Simon Says Stamp Favorite Things Release Blog Hop

Woohoo! Hello Simon Says Stamp Fans! I’m thrilled to be part of the celebrations for the brand new Favorite Things Release! You should have hopped here from the fabulous blog of

Kulbir Kirkland

If you want to go back the start the please scroll down to find the full list and start from the beginning at the Simon Says Stamp Blog.

This is a long post as I have so much to share! I made 5 cards in total all with amazing products in the Favorite Things Release. For TONS more inspiration head to the Favorite Things Gallery and prepare to be wowed! And don’t forget to leave a comment for a chance to win a $25 gift card to spend over at Simon Says Stamp!

Kicking off with one of MY FAVOURITE THINGS – Christmas!! I know, it’s February but it’s never too early. The Petal Builder Dies and Stencil just screamed PEPPERMINT to me! I used the Simon Says Stamp Diagonal Stripes Stencil and drew lines between the pink stripes with a red glitter gel pen. I die cut the “petals” from red and white card and assembled them to create a cute lollipop!

I used the Petal Builder Stencil for the next card and love how the same products can give such different looks! I pulled out a older Simon die (Circle Smile Die) for the centre of the flower and used the Tiny Words Birthday Stamp Set for my greeting.

My next two cards feature some stunning new products and I fell in love immediately with the new Bundled Swag embossing folder. It’s such a versatile folder and can be used either way up for stunning effects. I paired it with the new “One for the Books” stamp set using various inking techniques and finished off with some Crinkle Ribbon stained with Distress sprays and some of the gorgeous Pale Green Embellishment mix confetti.

My last card uses the new Hip Hip Hooray stamp set. I coloured the cute hippos with Copics and fussy cut them and arranged them around their little muddly puddle! The background is created using the Simon says Stamp Gingham Background stamp and I used the Wavy Scallop Stitches dies for my panel.

The next stop on the hop is the awesome

Simon Says … Anything Goes featuring Penny Black

Image

Hi all and welcome to another week on the Simon Says Stamp Wednesday Challenge. Thank you for joining us for the  Cute and Cuddly Challenge and we hope you will all join us again this week too

This week the challenge is

We are showcasing Penny Black Products this week. You don’t have to use them to join in but if you have some we would love to see them used.

This week I had the urge to pull out my Heidi Swapp Minc Machine and do some foiling. These Stick and Shine sheets from Penny Black are SO easy to use and I LOVE how they give a gorgeous shiny backdrop to your design. I picked this music themed one called Shimmering Tune

I used some teal foil and ran it through the Minc with the Stick and Shine sheet then die cut it using Simon Says Stamp Stitched Rectangle Dies. I die cut some foliage using the Tim Holtz Garden Greens dies and kept them white so that my Memory Box Azure Dragonflies would pop out. I die them from foiled cardstock and added some vellum wings and a few gems to add sparkle!

I added a die cut (from foiled cardstock) a sentiment from a Pink Fresh Studio die set specific one no longer available but lots of other options)..

Simon Says … Cute ‘n Cuddly featuring Newton’s Nook

Image

Hi all and welcome to another week on the Simon Says Stamp Wednesday Challenge. Thank you for joining us for the  Shake It Up Challenge and we hope you will all join us again this week too

This week the challenge is

We are showcasing Newton’s Nook Designs Products this week. You don’t have to use them to join in but if you have some we would love to see them used.

I started by creating a Rounded Rectangle card panel and used the Newton’s Nook Cascading Stars Stencil with Distress Cracked Pistachio Oxide ink to blend a background. I went over that with some Distress Translucent Texture Paste and set it aside to dry.

I die cut a frame using Avery Elle Rounded Rectangle dies (retired but a similar effect can be created using these Stitched Dies from Waffle Flower).I backed this with a square of vellum .

I then took the Avery Elle Pop Up Frenchie stamps and stamped him in black. Then to make him “cute and cuddly” I coated the black areas in Thermoweb Transfer Gel using a paint brush. After letting this dry for a few hours I ran it through my Minc with Black Velvet Flock Transfer Sheet. It leaves a gorgeous fuzzy feel to it!
