2 cards 2 challenges!

I have been busy making a couple of Mother’s Day cards this evening but I have been struggling and I’m not that happy with either of them!! The first one uses this weeks Mojo Monday sketch. I think it’s the colours I’m unsure about with this one. I have used trusty Daisy and she’s coloured with Promarkers.

This second card is for my MiL and uses the gorgeous Chick a Dee stamp. Again coloured with PM’s and glittered with stickles. I did have a bit of a revelation tonight though even if my cards didn’t quite turn out how I’d hoped. It may not be anything new to most of you out there and you’re probably going to all shout ” du-uh” when I say this, but you can colour your Primas to match your image with the Promarkers!!!! I must have spent half an hour scouring through all my various pockets of stash dotted around the house trying to find an embellishment that I could put on this card. Then it occurred to me that I could just take one of my Prima flowers and coloure it with the PM’s. EUREKA! Are you all wondering why I have only just realised this?

I think I may need to go to bed!

Oh, almost forgot, this is for the Sugar Bowl challenge which is Mother’s Day.

Night night.

Sketch and Stash #5

This is a great little sketch from the S&S team – very simple but versatile too. It’s the Gorjuss girl with a chicken or pigeon or some feathery thing. The paper has been in my stash for YEARS as has the ribbon – can’t even remember where either came from!! She’s coloured with promarkers and the sentiment is Papertry Ink.

I am hoping to get my blog candy up tomorrow (assuming the postie delivers it!!) so check back. It was supposed to be for my 10k hits but as I am 2 away from a round hundred in my followers list then I thought this was a good reason too. Thanks to everyone who supports and enables me in my little hobby. You’re all wonderful!!

A Spoonful of Sugar – # 42 Michelle’s sketch

Morning all, just popping on to tell about this weeks challenge at A Spoonful of Sugar. This week Michelle has created a very pretty sketch which was so easy to work with. This is my take on it – yes, I have been shopping again. I’ve been waiting for this little cutie to come back in stock at Funky Kits so when she did she was popped straight in the basket!!! This weeks prize is a £10 voucher for Silly Monkey Crafts so well worth having a go at the challenge – hope you can join in.

Just to add, the papers and sentiment are Crate Paper from their “Blue Hill Collection”. I used to sub to Sarah’s Cards – before the credit crunch – and this was one of their gorgeous scrapbook kits. The sentiment is from a sheet of die-cut accents as are the little flowers and flourishy things. The image is coloured with promarkers and there is the ubiquitous bling in the form of stickles here and there.

I think I should set myself my own personal little challenge to make a card that has NO glitter or bling on it at all!! Hmmm…
