Avery Elle … Underwater Friends with video

Hello there.  Caryn here today sharing a couple of cards and a wee video featuring the cute-as-can-be stamp set Underwater Friends.  I love to reach for the Waves die whenever I make a sea themed card – it makes the perfect backdrop!

I ended up making two cards along a similar vein and both used the die cut of the Waves die as a stencil to create a watery ink-blended background.  Before removing the stencil I spritzed with a little white paint to give the illusion of bubbles and set them aside to dry.

Meanwhile I stamped and die cut my images.  I coloured with Copics and then fixed them to my card front.

I added some glittery highlights to the images and finished with a simple sentiment in black

For My Valentine <3

It’s that time of year when the romance starts to filter in to every corner of our lives. And what shouts Valentine more than a shark that’s just ripped a chunk out of your still-beating heart?

Anyone who knows me, knows my thing for sharks. I LOVE em. There’s never an occasion where it’s inappropriate to make a card with a shark on it! IMHO anyway, lol!

I used the Waves die (my fave) to create a stencil and masked of a central rectangle using the Taylored Expressions rectangle masking stencil.I blended Tumbled Glass and Peacock Feathers distress oxide inks and then used some translucent paste around the edges and added glitter.

I stamped the shark and his Valentine’s gifts then coloured them with Copics and some glossy accents.

To finish I added a heat embossed sentiment and some Essentials By Ellen Crystal Clear Hearts.

Avery Elle … A Head Above

Hey there, I’m up on the Avery Elle blog today and I have a slimline card design using the cute A Head Above stamp set.  The critters in this set are so adorable – especially that giraffe – I love him!!!

I created an 8×4 inch card base and cut a separate strip of white card for the front.  I blended 3 purple ins shades to give an ombre effect and then spritzed it with Ranger picket fence spray.I stamped and die cut some of the critter images and the bunting and added a scallop border in black using the Dotted Border Dies.
