Avery Elle … Happy Birthday Die

Caryn here with a rainbow-filled card featuring the Happy Birthday die.  This die is great when you want to create a focal point but allow the background to centre-stage at the same time!

I started by using Distress oxide inks to create a rainbow background then spritzed it with a little white ink spray.  I then die cut the Happy Birthday die 4 times and stacked them up for a look of dimension.  I added a strip of vellum behind the die cut and added them to the card front.  To finish I added a few enamel dots here and there.

Get Cracking On Christmas 2021

Hey there! I’m finally getting my mojo back in action and am joining in with my chums to Get Cracking On Christmas. This was something Jenn Shurkus started along with Chari Moss and Libby Hickson a couple of years ago and I thought it was a fab idea! Last year though I was a very poor participant and whist I’ve missed January and February, here I am in March with not one but TWO cards – I’ll be caught up in no time!!

I’ve pulled out some of my favourite Concord and 9th supplies today _ I love these sets so much. There is very little stamping going on other than my plaid background but lots of die-cutting.

For this first card I “dyed” some card stock using the Lime Rickey ink pad from Catherine Pooler then die cut the elements. I did the same with the Pucker Up ink pad so my Cheers would match the plaid!

The Cheers is cut twice from white then once from the Lime Rickey card and once from the Pucker Up card. This gives dimension and the slightly offset pink on top of the green gives a nice offset effect.

The next card is stamped in Melon Ice and the panel adhered to a landscape card base. I die cut a white oval using the Oval Burst die from Avery Elle and die cut the foliage from an olive green cardstock.

I used Rouge from Catherine Pooler to dye some card again and then die cut the Season’s and greetings from it.

Don’t know about you but I’m feeling all festive now!!!

Avery Elle … Peek-a-Boo Birthday Tag Toppers

Hey there!  I’m here today with some cute gift tags made using the fabulous Peek-a-Boo Tag Toppers elle-ments

I decided to create a tag for each of the critters as I just couldn’t leave any of them out! I started by creating my tag bases using the Holiday Circle Tags elle-ments (which obviously aren’t just for the holidays!).

Once I die cut all my pieces I got to assembling.  Each one of the toppers is die cut with cut lines showing where to cut and place each part of the critter until you’ve built up the final one.  Aren’t they cute!?I picked some sentiments from the A Head Above stamp set and arched them on a stamping block so they would curve around the edges of the tags.

For each one wearing a party hat (not the unicorn, a hat would just spoil that beautiful golden horn!) I added some colour using Copics and a puff on the end using Neon Amplify from Tsukineiko which puffs up when you heat it! (If you want to see it in action head to my Instagram  @glittermesilly) to see a reel I did!

I finished off by adding some Midnight Hemp twine and now these guys are ready to PARTAAAY!
