Avery Elle Summer 2019 Release Blog Hop

SUMMER 2019 RELEASE

Hey AVERY ELLE fans – the BIG BLOG HOP DAY has arrived and I’m SOOOO excited to be able to bring you some fun cards showcasing some of the new designs available now in the store.  The brand new SUMMER 2019 RELEASE is spectacular and I think you’re going to LOVE all the fab new products we have to share.  I’m a little proud today as I’m sharing one of two new sets I’ve designed and yes, you guessed it – it’s SHARKS!  Well, a shark and a Manta ray to be precise!  The Celeb-RAY-tion set is illustrated to match perfectly with my first shark themed set, Hello Chum and even uses the same font on the sentiments so you can mix and match to your hearts content! I’ve also used a couple of the new die designs which I absolutely LOVE.

Ps.  Make sure you scroll right to the bottom for details on how to win some goodies for yourself!

The first card uses the cute manta rays from Celeb-RAY-tion and the gorgeous new Dotted Frame Die. I also used the Coral Reef dies to create a quick and simple but effective underwater scene for the rays.  I die cut the Dotted Frame once in aqua and then in white.  I wanted to blend some inks onto the white panel from the centre to make it appear more watery.  I used Distress oxides then added splatters of another of our amazing new products, the Clear Shimmer Spray.  You can see how this gives a beautiful pearly shimmer to the card – it’s so pretty in real life.  I stamped, die cut and coloured the rays and assembled the card using foam tape and our brand new Liquid Adhesive. Lastly I added some Snowball Droplets from Ellen Hutson.  They make the perfect bubbles!!

The second card is so fun – he wobbles!  I added a wee video below so you can see him in his shimmery, googly-eyed, wobbly glory!  I die cut the waves for the background in aqua cardstock using the brilliant new Summer Scene dies.  Then I stamped and die cut the shark from Celeb-RAY-tion and coloured him with Copics before adding a Mini Action Wobble to him (available at Ellen Hutson).  I gave him a festive, birthday look with a hat and a cake and added some seaweed and more of the Snowball Droplets before finishing off with another good spritz of the Clear Shimmer Spray.

Avery Elle… You’ve Got This

Hey there, I’m over on the Avery Elle Blog today with a card featuring a fabulous little set called You’ve Got This.   It has a gorgeous feature sentiment that also has a two-layered accompanying die and then lots of great encouraging extra sentiments for lots of different (and difficult) occasions.

I started with a white card base and blended some Lemon Grass and Sea Glass inks to give a little colour to the background.  I then took some aqua coloured cardstock and made a panel using the Embellished Heart die to make an aperture.  I wrapped some Midnight Twine around the panel then popped it on the card front using foam tape.

I finished off the card by die-cutting the two layers of the sentiment in black and white card and adhered it across the heart aperture.

Avery Elle … Journey

Hey there, I’m over on the Avery Elle Blog  with a pretty pastel card using the fabulous Journey stamp set and dies.   I’ve paired it with an awesome new coverplate die called Quilted Frame.  I love the way it looks with a little white pigment ink blended around the aperture – it gives the scene a pretty, whimsical feel.

I used the Quilted Frame die to cut the base panel from aqua cardstock and then with a blending brush and Avery Elle White Pigment ink I added a soft halo effect around the aperture.  I stamped and die cut the main car image and trees from the stamp set and coloured them with Copics before adding some clear shimmer here and there.

Once I assembled the pieces in place with foam tape I stamped the sentiment on a curve and added “Just Married” to the number plate.  Love how this set can be used for so many occasions just by changing the the sentiments that are included.
