Avery Elle … Holiday Skates

Happy Monday everyone and hello to Holiday Skates Week over on the Avery Elle Blog.  I’m very excited to share a card I’ve created using this set.  When I designed this set I pictured in my head all the gorgeous, festive holiday decor you see on Pinterest of old vintage boots and skis adorned with festive foliage hanging in hallways or on doors.  And this card is just what I pictured with the set!  I’ve also created a short video too showing how this card came together (see below)!
The Holiday Ephemera pack came in very useful with the border and the perfect sentiment banner!
I used the small snow flurry stamp with Mint To Be ink to create a “halo” effect for my background behind my main focal image.
Once I’d stamped, coloured and die cut all my pieces I arranged them how I wanted and assembled them using foam tape and Avery Elle Liquid Glue.

To finish I picked one of the sentiments from the Holiday Ephemera pack and then added Glossy Accents to the blades of the skates and the candy canes and berries for some added bling!

Avery Elle Fall 2019 Release Blog Hop

Hey there!  Today is one of my favourites days of the year – the launch of the Avery Elle Fall release!  I love all things Fall and Christmas so look forward to the new sets every year.  This year is one of the best yet and I’m excited to share one of the sets I designed – Alpine Christmas.  I actually drew this set (and the other one, Holiday Skates) back in January on a ski trip in Andorra!  I saw old vintage sleds and skis decorating many of the shops and restaurants in the town and so was totally inspired!

I drew the sled and kept the woodgrain pattern as an option so you could colour it solidly or give it the aged wooden appearance – I find stamping the sled first and then lining up the woodgrain pattern over it is the best way to do it.  For both these cards I stamped the sled and wood pattern then added colour using Copics.  On all three of my cards I’ve used some of the new papers from the brand new Holiday Paper Pad – I’m in LOVE with it.  The sentiment on this first one is from the new Ephemera pack too – swoon!

My last card features the vintage wooden skis and I used some of the sentiments from the new Seasonal Sentiments set – so incredibly useful to have in your collection!!

Avery Elle … Floral Notes

Hi there, I’m over on the Avery Elle blog today  with my take on the gorgeous Floral Notes stamps and dies.  The Floral Frame perfectly complements Pierced Rectangles die set so I created a simple water coloured frame for an elegant Thank You card.

I stamped the Floral Notes image in Versamark and embossed it in white.  I then used Zig Clean Colour Markers to add colour in shades of blue and purple to give a soft effect.

On a white card base I blended some Tumbled Glass Distress Oxide ink and then I die cut one of the rectangles from the Pierced Rectangle set and mounted it with the frame on to the base.

I stamped the Thank You sentiment from the Floral Notes set in Sapphire Pigment Ink.
