As soon as I saw the words PINK and HERO ARTS together I knew I had the perfect stamp set for this challenge.  The Colour Layering Flamingo set is possibly my favourite Hero Arts set of all time.  I’ve used it so much and I’ll never get bored of it!  For the background I stamped one of the images from the Brushtrokes set from Tim Holtz in Cracked Pistachio Oxide Ink.  I spritzed some gold Heidi Swapp shimmer over the top and set it aside to dry.  Meanwhile I stamped my flamingo using 3 different Simon Says Stamp inks (listed below) using the MISTI to make sure everything was lined up perfectly and added the beak and legs in Smoke ink.  I die cut the Hugs from black glitter paper using the Avery Elle Simply Said: Hugs die and cut a strip of MFT striped grey paper before assembling everything on the front of the card.  I finished it off with a few little dots of Nuevo jewel drops in Rosewater here and there.

Touch of Pink HA

Avery Elle … Simply Said: HUGS

blogheadersmall2

Hey!  I have a card over on the Avery Elle Blog today using the new Simply Said: HUGS stamp set and dies.  I’ve been waiting for Jamie to release a hugs version of the Simply Said collection for AGES so am over the moon that we now have it!  I die cut the mat of the hugs sentiment to match my base card and the layer to match my die cut oval (from Sweet Scallops).  I thought the cat image from Dear Santa (not JUST for Christmas 😉 would go well with the sentiment so stamped her in New Moon dye ink and coloured her with Copics.

Pop by the Avery Elle Blog every day for great ideas and inspiration from the deign team.

Hi all and welcome to another week on the Simon Says Stamp Wednesday Challenge

Thank you for joining us for the Totally Resistible Challenge and we hope you will all join us again this week too.

This week the challenge is

Think Pink

As you know October is breast cancer awareness month. Apart from using some pink on our creations we all need to have a good feel of our breasts and if we notice anything unusual then we need to get them checked by a Doctor. If you are due for a Mammogram, make sure to make the appointment!

This week we are showcasing Pink And Main Products  You don’t have to use them for the challenge but if you have them we would love to see them used.

When I “THINK PINK” my mind goes to one thing … FLAMINGOES!  I ADORE this layering flamingo stamp set from Hero Arts and thought it would work well with the fabulous big HUGS sentiment from the Pink and Main “Hugs Needed” stamp set.  I did  couple of different versions of this card whilst I had all my supplies sitting out – one SUPER pink one, and one a little more … subtle!!  Which do you prefer?
