Avery Elle … Flamingo Bells

Hi there.  This week on the Avery Elle Blog we’re featuring a cute holiday set that’s a bit out of the norm!  It’s Christmas but with a tropical twist.  I decided to create a little tag using the Shaker Tags Elle-ments (please ignore the fact I took the photo before I added the ribbon to the top of the tag – doh!).

I blended Distress Oxide inks (Picked Raspberry, Spiced Marmalade and Peacock Feathers) to create a sunset backdrop and then die cut the large tag shape from it and stamped the palm tree scene stamp.

After adding some shimmer using Spica Pens I die cut the frame from white using both the tag dies.  I layered this using foam tape over the base tag and finished by adding the sentiment and a festive little flamingo!

AVERY ELLE… FROSTY FRIENDS (WITH VIDEO)

Hey there Avery Elle Fans, I’m here with a card using the Frosty Friends stamp set (designed by me!).

My usual take on a snowy themed card would be to reach for the pale blues and aqua shades to give a classic icy feel to the image.  This time however, given the vintage style of the set I thought I’d try to recreate a more old-fashioned look, like an old sepia photo.

I’ve also made a little video showing how this card card came together using a partial die-cutting technique which is lots of fun!

Avery Elle STAMPtember Exclusive MERRY MISTLETOE

Hey there!  Popping in with a quick post to share this one layer card using the gorgeous Simon Says Stamp/Avery Elle STAMPtember exclusive set, Merry Mistletoe.  I love the style of this set with it’s large main image (great for this kind of card) and fabulous sentiments.  I have recently been experimenting with Prismacolour pencils (thanks to my sweet friend Debby Hughes) so thought I’d opt for those today.  I’m still a novice but I do find them so addictive!  I coloured the image on Tonal Gray cardstock and then as a final “hurrah” coated the whole lot in shimmer spray!!  The final card is gorgeous and sparkly but I don’t think that comes over all that well!!

This set is only available while stocks last so if you want it for those quick yet striking holiday cards I’d grab it while you can!!

Thanks for stopping by!
