Prepare to get bored of….

These little beauties!!

This is my first creation with some of my new Hero Arts stamps I got yesterday. Aren’t they just the most gorgeous images EVER?
I have one issue with this card though – do you “get” the sentiment? When I say “Geisha” I pronounce it “Geesha” which makes the phrase “Geisha Kiss” sound like “Geeza Kiss” – you may have to be Glaswegian to even get that!!! However, if you pronounce it “Gay-sha”, then it doesn’t really make much sense – lol. This is one of those moments when I am starting to overthink things – what do you all think??

I am entering this for two challenges this week!! A Spoonful of Sugar and Cute Card Thursday. It fits the “Love” themes going on at the moment.
I have actually gone and done my usual and submitted it in the Sugar Bowl challenge – which of course is no good as these are Hero Arts stamps!!! I am a total numpty!! Sorry to everyone form The Sugar Bowl for wasting your time again and looking at this!!

NOT a challenge card – gasp!

I seem to have become so addicted to challenges at the moment that I’m barely making a card that hasn’t evolved from some brief devised by someone else. Don’t get me wrong, I love having a starting point and have become so much more focused and productive in the last few weeks after discovering them. This is just a wee card I made using the Twinkle image again from Pink Petticoat. She’s a bit more of a party Twinkle than the last one – I wanted to see what she’d look like with black hair! I think she rocks!!

Ohh, excitement – I was a bit naughty last night and a couple of special little things fell into my basket whilst I was perusing the CraftsULove website. The Russian Dolls stamp set and the Four Sweet Dolls (look like Momjii dolls) stamp set!! I’m tingling with anticipation about them coming. Can you tell??

It’s distressing!!

No, don’t worry, I mean in a crafty way. Now the distressed look (roughed up edges, acrylic paint smudges, sandpaper…) is not usually “me” but tonight I thought I’d step out of my comfort zone and go for it. This is my take on this week’s Paper Take Weekly challenge. It’ another fabby sketch by Dawny P although I have missed out the sentiment – slap wrists! I am also submitting it to A Spoonful of Sugar challenge which is “Oh baby”.
The base layer is pink core-dinations which I have roughed up around the edges a bit. If you look closley I have put a stitched effect edge – this is done with one of those little wheel thingys that dressmakers use. I have smeared a bit of white acrylic paint over it too to take the crispness away a wee bit (I was straight to the loo to scrub my hands though – can’t abide being messy!). The pp is from the Oh Baby Girl! Basic Grey collection (again). The focal point is done using UTEE on a piece of mountboard and one of my trusty old stamps I haven’t used in ages. I love doing this – it’s so satisfying (if not a tad messy for my liking – had to break out the dustbuster after that!!). Once again I have used my Martha punch (did anyone watch her version of The Apprentice a couple of years back? It was FANTASTIC) and some stickles to make it ping a wee bit.
