A Spoonful of Sugar – # 49 – Colour scheme – blue and green.

Happy Tuesday one and all and hello to a new challenge over at A Spoonful of Sugar. It’s a nice, simple one this week – create something using the colour scheme blue and green. I must have had this Doodlebug paper in my stash for YEARS but I thought of it as soon as I saw this challenge. It is my nephew’s 2nd birthday on bank holiday Monday so this is what I created for him. Although it’s quite plain I’m actually rather pleased with how it turned out. The boat is from the New Arrivals cricut cartridge cut in layers and embossed. The number 2 is done using Plantin Schoolbook.

It was my choice of Guest Design Team member this week too and I picked the fabulously talented and ever-so-special Steph. Her card is just so beautiful as are all of the other DT’s. Hope you get the chance to pop over and have a look and join in the challenge too. Our prize this week has been generously donated by Helene at Alota Rubber Stamps.

Cupcake Crafts Challenge #37 – chosen by Caryn (ooh, that’s me – again!)

Yes, it’s Monday so it’s a new challenge over at Cupcake Crafts. It’s the first of the DT challenges and this week it’s my turn – yay! Here is what I want you all to do:

“I am so thrilled to be setting the challenge for you this week and have chosen my 5 gorgeous children as my inspiration! So in honour of Daniel, Olivia, Georgia, Sophie and Pippa your creation must include 5 DIFFERENT embellishments (not including your card, papers or images!). You can use more than one flower or brad for example, but it will only count once!!! I can’t wait to see what you all come up with.
Hugs,Caryn xxx”

LOL – I hope this isn’t too tricky – maybe it will be for those minimalists amongst you!! I get to pick the top 5 too (the hardest part of all!) so I can’t wait to see what you all create.

Here is my example. My 5 includes ribbon, eyelets, staples, gems and glitter. I don’t make enough cards for boys so enjoyed making this one.

The papers, card and chipboard elements are by Sassafrass Lass from a Sarah’s Cards kit from last year. I coloured the chipboard circle/star with a blue promarker before covering it with Aqua stickles. I used my much neglected cropadile on the row of eyelets and then stapled the card along the edges for an “industrial look”. The ribbon is from a Raspberry Ribbons kit.

The rest of the DT really did us proud with their examples – they’re amazing. Please pop by the blog and have a look. Think you can even beat 5???

PTW challenge – Dawny’s sketch #13

This is my take on Dawny’s lovely sketch over at PTW this week. I did turn it on it’s side so hope that’s ok. This is made with more of the gorgeous Stampin Up! papers from my pal Steph – this time from the Summer Picnic range. The flowers in the middle (which go very well indeed with the paper I have to say!) are a set of stamps I’ve had for AGES from Banana Frog. I haven’t really used them much latley but as I was looking through them I came across this one. Handy when that kind of thig happens isn’t it??

Ok, off to chip away at that ironing!!
