Cupcake Crafts Challenge #42 – Fairies

Yay, it’s Monday (not something you’ll hear very often) but Monday means a new challenge over at Cupcake Crafts! This week is a brilliant theme picked by the fabulous DT member Evelina Wikberg FAIRIES! I think most of us own at least one fairy stamp so this one should be easy peasy! The DT have done some fantastic cards again this week so please pop over for a look. I know I am being a wee bit repetetive (I used this same stamp, Sprinkles on Toadstool by Pink Gem Designs for last wek’s challenge) but I didn’t know then that this week was going to be fairies and I love this stamp so much I couldn’t resist inking her up again!! I have decouped her a bit on this card and added some ice stickles to her wings and crown and to the toadstool. The paper is by Dovecraft and the sentiment is from Papermania. I have used Promarkers to colour her (carmine, magenta, ruby, cool grey 1, ice grey 1, ivory, blush, vanilla, apricot). I have also used my SU! scallop edge punch.
We had such a great weekend here with the sun shining. It was SOOO hot and looks set to be another scorcher here again today. The kids are off school here for another week (we get shorter hols at Easter) so we are really going to make the most of it. I just wish I had more dirty washing – there’s nothing left to hang on the line!!!

At last – a card!!

This is my entry for the challenge this week over at The Sugar Bowl which is a gorgeous sketch by Kathy . I have used the beautiful Sugar Nellie stamp, Chick a dee which is one of my favourites. She is coloured with promarkers (moss green, olive green, pastel blue, cornflower, blue pearl, ivory, vanilla, blush, cocoa, cinnamon and henna plus gold and canary for the chick).

Tha papers and card are Stampin Up (Summer Picnic) and the extra in the challenge is to use pearls which I have in the centre of the brads. The ribbon is We Are Memory Keepers.

Right, just a quickie – the tropical weather outside is calling me back!!

PASSION FOR PROMARKERS – LAUNCH DAY!

DOUBLE POST, PLEASE SCROLL DOWN

Yes, it’s finally here. Today the challenges begin over at the FABULOUS new blog Passion for Promarkers set up by Gina and Denise. If you already use promarkers or are just curious as to what they are and how to use them then you MUST check out this blog. It’s not JUST challenges either. There will be lots of tips on how to make the most of your markers and you’ll get LOTS AND LOTS of inspiration from the amazing design team. Each week the challenge will focus on 2 or 3 specific colours. Your creation must have these colours as your main focal point but you can use other ones along side them if you wish.

The first challenge is “Anything Goes” so the only rule is that your creation must include the use of at least one promarker. We want as many people to join us as possible and have some spectacular prizes on offer from our hugley generous sponsors for this first challenge.

3 ribbon kits from Angel Crafts

2 stamps from Dies to Die For

5 sheets of downloads from Daisy May Digi Stamps

AN ENTIRE SET OF 92 PROMARKERS from Joanna Sheen!!

A Beach Sprinkles stamp from Pink Gem Designs.

If you don’t own a promarker yet then all three of our sponsors stock them. If you have to wait till your next pay day but don’t want to miss out on the chance to win then be extra nice to any friends you might have that own a promarker and borrow them!!

This is my card for our first challenge using a gorgeous Pink Gem Designs stamp. I have stamped him using Memento Tuxedo black ink onto good quality white card.

The colours I have used are

Lemon, canary, gold, mustard and pumpkin on his bee suit. (I shaded the yellow stripes in the palest yellow, LEMON to start then added canary from the edge to about a third in on either side. I then coloured with gold on each side but not as far in as the canary and then finally added a small area of mustard and a thin line of pumpkin to the darkest areas). I have also outlined the wings with canary and then gone around him with the lemon.

Apple, moss and meadow green on the grass and stalks and

blush, orange and mandarin on the flowers.

Cool grey 1 and warm grey 1plus a touch of satin around the edges of his fur just to give a hint of shadow.

The design team have done some amazing cards for this challenge so please go to the blog and check them out. So much inspiration to be had!!

Hope you can join us.
