I’m SO excited this week to be featuring Avery Elle on our projects.  I also couldn’t help myself and picked one of the new stamp sets I designed for the latest release!  As a child I remember being mesmerised by the old glass ornaments on my Gran’s tree.  I particularly loved the ones with the indents like little sparkly fairy caves!!  That’s what I was trying to recreate with this set and I love how the font adds to the retro feel.  Of course, it wouldn’t be Christmas without some glitter so I added some some nice chunky crystals to the edges of the ornaments.  Ahhh, I LOVE Christmas 🙂

Avery Elle… Sweet Tidings and Treat Tag /Box Die

Hey there!  This post is scheduled because as it goes live, I’ll be in Crete ready to see my beautiful twin sister walk down the aisle/beach to marry her true love.  As Chief Bridesmaid No 1 (technically I’m supposed to be Maid of Honour but I prefer CB) I’m sure it’ll be all hands on deck but I know it’s going to be the best day ever.

So onto my project for today.   If only the sentiment on that tag were true, lol!  I’ve been playing with the fabulous Treat Box die from the new release from Avery Elle.  It’s so simple to create this great little box and is so useful for all kinds of gifts – particularly of the sweet variety, yum!  The co-ordinating stamp set makes this the ideal set for those little special gifts all year round.

A couple of months ago, a friend of mine asked me if I’d make her a few cards for a few different events she had coming up.  One of them was her daughter Imogen’s First Holy Communion.  Imogen is quite a girly girl so I thought lots of glitter and shine would be right up her street.  I printed what I wanted for the front of the card onto a panel of white card using my laser printer then ran it through the Minc machine with silver foil.  I created a square card base and put an overlay on it using foiled acetate from We R Memory Keepers (love this product).  To finish I cut a strip of glitter card and also die cut a bow using the Perfect Bow die from Simon Says Stamp and added a little diamond cross to the centre.
