Glitter Me Silly

Edit – This is now an entry for the Pollycrafts challenge instead!! As the card doesn’t have a Sugar Nellie image on it (duh) but it does have doodling on it, I am submitting it there!! Never mind. My brain will start working sooner or later!

Edit again – I am SO SO SO thick. This doesn’t have Pollycrafts design on it so doesn’t qualify for that challenge either!! lol. I’m giving up now!

By the skin of my teeth I have done my card for the challenge over at The Sugar Bowl. I am getting the hang of these sketches now – took me a while and a bit of head scraching – note to self – do not procrastinate, it takes up valuable crafting time!! I am going to give this one to my hubby for Valentines Day!

I have used the GORGEOUS stamps by Sassafrass Lass (was drawn to them because the set is called “Olivia and pals” which is the name of my eldest daughter). The papers are, you guessed it, Pink Petticoat – Lola’s Boudoir – LOVE IT! Didn’t even know I had some black prima’s so they were a great find in my stash mountain, and because there was no glitter (WHAAAAT?) I have added bling in the form of gems. Phew! I have layered up the owls a wee bit and put diamond glaze on their eyes to make them POP!

Right, must go and link into the challenge otherwise it would have all been for nothing!!

Ooh, I’m 5 hits away from 4000 – that’s exciting!

Three Little Chicks

Thought I’d have a crack at the Papertake Weekly challenge which is one of Dawny P’s sketches. This is actually the very first time I have used a sketch and I have to say, I found it harder than I thought. Although I am reasonably pleased with the final outcome, I found it very hard not to “overthink” it, if that makes sense. The patterned paper is Pink Petticoat again and the stamp is one I’ve had for a while but I love it. I have layered up the image a bit and added glamour dust everywhere! The glitter border round the edge of the base layer is done with very narrow ds tape.

Right, watched Big Brother and Most Haunted so can now go to bed!!

I am loving the fact that the blogging world is full of such wonderfully generous people who want to share not only their endless and amazing talents with us all, but their stash too! I get so excited when some new blog candy appears out there so thought I’d get in on some of that “feel-good” spirit myself.

As I am fast approaching 4000 hits in just over 4 months (my first post was on 31st August 08) I thought that seemed like a good enough reason to throw some candy out there. Obviously this is another new blogging element of which I have no previous knowledge or experience so you must bear with me. I may screw the whole thing up!!

I am putting together not one but 2 lots of yummy, scrummy candy. One for the scrappers and one for the cardies. As I feel I am very much neither one nor the other exclusivley I couldn’t decide which approach to take. So both it is!! Saggitarians are well known for their indecisiveness you know!!

When I have it alll sorted I will post all the details here.
