A Spoonful of Sugar – # 43 A Little Gem

This weeks challenge over at A Spoonful of Sugar is to use gems on your card!! Well, this was not a difficult challenge for me as they appear on the vast majority of my creations anyway!!! On my card I have used black Paper Mania adhesive stones on the punched edge (with my Martha punch of course). I have used one of the new Leanne Ellis stamps from Funky Kits and the sentiment is from Papertrey Ink. The papers are Pink Petticoat.

We have a lovely Edwin stamp on offer this week from Nutcrafters so have a go at the challenge. Looking forward to seeing what you all come up with.

2 more cards, 2 more challenges!!

Hi everyone. Haven’t had a chance to get on and blog for a couple days and have not had my blopping fix either. We were away up to The Lakes at the weekend and had a fantastic couple of days. The weather was lovely for a change!! I am dying to get round everyones blogs but have only really had time to look at the little thumbnails of everyones work on my blogroll. Will try and get round for a proper visit tomorrow!

This evening I have been playing with Steph’s Papertrey Ink stuff again. The challenge for this fortnight over at A Passion for Papertrey is to make a single layer card but you can add ribbons and embellishments etc. My entry is the square card in the photo made with strips of ribbon (mostly from my Raspberry Ribbons kit) and one of the butterfly stamps. The stamps, card and the brown satin ribbon are all PTI. I’m not 100% sure if this qualifies as a single layer card since I put my image over the top of the ribbon but I’ll enter it anyway, I had fun making it which is what counts (!!). The other card is taken from the sketch at the Raspberry Ribbons Sketch challenge. Again it is using PTI papers and butterfly stamp. On both cards I have stickled the butterflies in orange.

Right, I guess I should get to bed seeing as my eyes are now falling out from tiredness!!!

2 cards 2 challenges!

I have been busy making a couple of Mother’s Day cards this evening but I have been struggling and I’m not that happy with either of them!! The first one uses this weeks Mojo Monday sketch. I think it’s the colours I’m unsure about with this one. I have used trusty Daisy and she’s coloured with Promarkers.

This second card is for my MiL and uses the gorgeous Chick a Dee stamp. Again coloured with PM’s and glittered with stickles. I did have a bit of a revelation tonight though even if my cards didn’t quite turn out how I’d hoped. It may not be anything new to most of you out there and you’re probably going to all shout ” du-uh” when I say this, but you can colour your Primas to match your image with the Promarkers!!!! I must have spent half an hour scouring through all my various pockets of stash dotted around the house trying to find an embellishment that I could put on this card. Then it occurred to me that I could just take one of my Prima flowers and coloure it with the PM’s. EUREKA! Are you all wondering why I have only just realised this?

I think I may need to go to bed!

Oh, almost forgot, this is for the Sugar Bowl challenge which is Mother’s Day.

Night night.
