CASEing Laurie!

The card I’m sharing this evening is totally inspired by one of my favourite designers, Laurie Willison.  Her graphic style really speaks to me and her recent obsession (if I may call it that?!) with stripes has had my jaw dropping on more than one occasion.  You can find her original post HERE:

I love the negative space with the heart and of course the stripes??!!

So here is my take on it:

Thanks Laurie (if you’re reading this) – I love your work and your cheery disposition!  I am sharing this over at the CASE Study blog – Chupa’s looking for some new DT members so I’ve got my fingers and toes crossed here!  (makes it a tad difficult to type though!!).

It’s sunny – so here’s a sunshiney card!

Hellooooo!  Here to share a card I made for my lovely sister-in-law Nikki who has recently become the newest member of the “40” club!  She has always loved the colour yellow and sunflowers are one of her favourites (they always remind me of her) so I immediately grabbed the Blooming Marvellous set from Clearly Besotted when I sat down to make her a card.

The little “40” was cut using the modern numbers dies from PTI and the sentiment is from Big Birthday Wishes.

Well, better get back to work – groan!

CASE Study Challenge (the last one not the new one!!)

I know I missed it (story of my life lately) but here is card I was inspired to make when I saw this card by JJ Bolton, the current muse over at the CASE Study challenge blog.  This is the last challenge – not the current one but even though I’m late for the party I thought I’d share it anyway!!

Here’s JJ’s card…

And here’s my take on it – it’s not interactive (still getting to grips with that particular arena of cardmaking) but I was drawn to the negative die cut and bold colours.

The speech bubble dies and sentiment are from one of the latest releases from Clearly Besotted stamps – go check them out!

Thanks again for dropping by!
