I’m loving the smaller scale of these little 4-bar sized cards I’ve been making recently – they’re so cute!  For my interpretation of the challenge I looked to the smallest creatures of all – microbes!  In a previous life I obtained a degree in microbiology so this stamp set, Healthy Vibes from Paper Smooches is really quite appropriate!!  I stamped each of the bugs onto a sheet of gorgeous Taylored Expressions paper from the new Rainbow Brights paper pack and fussy cut them out.  I then took the Borders 1 dies and cut my white front card panel across the bottom third with one of the dies (the heartbeat one – no idea of the technical name??).  With a strip of one of the other papers from the same pack I placed it behind the gap.  I then simply stamped the greeting and popped the little bugs onto the front with foam adhesive and added some googly eyes – for which I never need an excuse!!!

Avery Elle – Thank You Die

Hello – I’m popping today with a card I created using the gorgeous Thank You die from Avery Elle.  I absolutely adore the font style and size of this die – it makes the perfect focal point on a card.

Thank you

I used Avery Elle smooth white card for my card base and cut a strip of patterned paper from the Avery Elle Everyday paper pad.  I cut a narrower strip of co-ordinating paper from the same collection and adhered them onto the card front.  One of the flag shapes from the Dotted Elle-ments set was cut from vellum and adhered onto the layered paper strips.  The Thank You was cut from white cardstock and glued in place over the vellum which also helps hold it in place so no glue is visible.  I finished it all off with some twine and a few Doodlebug sprinkles in silver glitter.

Remeber to visit the Avery Elle design blog every day for lots of amazing creations from the rest of the team.  Also, a date for your diary … the CHA release will be available on 26th February.  Can’t wait to start sharing my designs with you!

Sketched Blooms

Hello again.  I’m back today with one more card before the Clearly Besotted February 2015 release goes live tonight at 10pm BST.  Today I’m featuring the amazing Sketched Blooms stamp set and it is beautiful.  I fell in love with this set as soon as I saw it and knew it was screaming to be watercoloured.  This time I went with distress ink rather than water colour paints.  I used Spun Sugar and Picked Raspberry (I think they’re probably my two most used distress colours), dabbed them onto a craft sheet and then spritzed the ink with water.  I stamped two large and one small flower in Versamark onto Tim Holtz water colour paper and then heat embossed them in white before die cutting them.  I then coloured the flowers in quite loosley to give a pretty, delicate tint.  I repeated this for the leaves using Peeled Paint distress ink.  For my card base I wanted to have more than just a plain base so to echo the softness of the flowers I cut a panel out of an A2 Neenah white card base and “joined” the front of the card back together with a panel of thick vellum.  By anchoring the flower cluster over the gap the card is given back it’s strength and so doesn’t collapse.

I stamped the Hello sentiment also from the set (LOVE that font) in Fog pigment ink from Avery Elle (such a gorgeous shade of grey).  To finish the card I added a few splatters of Mister Huey Calico Shine and a few wee sequins (because … sequins).

Thanks for visiting – I really hope you’ve enjoyed this release and I can’t wait to see the cards around blogland once they start shipping.  Don’t forget to check out Steph and the rest of the design team for lots more inspiration.
