MISTI MAY-NIA! Day 26

instagram MISTI Maynia

I guess you must all know by now but the AMAZINGLY generous peeps over at My Sweet Petunia (let by the fabulous Iliana) are giving away… wait for it … a FREE MINI MISTI EVERY DAY IN MAY!!!  I am chuffed to be joining in the fun and helping them get the word out about this astonishing tool.  I have 2 MISTI’s and hoping to add the Mini to my collection very soon!  I use it every time I craft and can barely remember how I managed without it  (I like to call those the BM days – Before Misti, lol!!).

The MISTI makes so many things easier when you’re stamping – I love to use it to get the perfect, crisp image or to create multiple images super quick and easy.  Another technique that is so easy when  you have a MISTI is multi-coloured or selective stamping.  I have a couple of cards below using one of my brand new designs from Avery Elle (released and available today!!) called Butterflies.  I stamped the the images in one shade and then inked up the stamps in a darker shade and removed the ink from the middle so it only stamps the darker colour at the edges.  I also was able to achieve the perfect placement of my sentiments (from another amazing brand new set called Big Greetings from Avery Elle) which I double stamped to get a gorgeous, flawless impression (Happy Sigh!!)

Thank you for the opportunity to win the mini misti, I have been dying to try one. And it would make things so much easier, especially since I like to stamp a second time over an image after I color it, just to intensify the lines, so the misti would be a life saver for that.

I’m a big MISTI’s fan since I discovered the Sweet Petunia web site at the end of last year. As I’m still a novice in card creation, I use my MISTI mostly for heat embossing to help me to use my Touch markers (it’s very difficult to find Copic’s in Switzerland). The MISTI is so helpful to re-stamp the same image when the stamping is not perfect. I’m also learning to use multi layers stamps and my MISTI is again so much help. So of course, a mini MISTI would be the perfect complement to my original one.

  635. Mary McCown says:

Because I don’t have a cool misti yet, I like to use the old time method of acrylic blocks the color in with water color.

  636. I don’t think I have one favourite technique when it goes to stamping and creating cards, I go through different phases. Recently, I black heat emboss all images and then watercolor them using my distress inks! 🙂 before that, it was all about copic colouring…
Thanks for the chance to win!

  637. Deborah H. says:

Love the butterflies. My favorite technique is embossing. It would be wonderful to have a Misti to help with stamping.

  638. Judy Crane says:

Caryn, I liked your butterflies with 2 shades of color. I will definitely try that technique when I get a misti! Last night I was making a card for a friend and I needed to stamp on a hexagon and more than once part of it did not print – I thought to myself, I need a misti (which I never had even heard about until earlier this month) and I could stamp over what I already had and it would be fine (I tried doing it anyway and needless to say I didn’t get the stamp in the correct spot and had to discard it). So now my favorite technique is embossing – it seems to add so much to my cards. Thanks for a chance to win a mini misti!

  639. Craftyfield says:

Difficult to pick a favorite but one that never fails for me is stamping with Versamark and coloring with chalks/pastel on top.

What great cards and a cool technique! I love to try all kinds of techniques but nine times out of ten, even if they’re not my favorite, I reach for my Copics bc they’re quick and I love the look. Although I rarely do it, my favorite technique would probably be the iron technique. I don’t do it too often bc it takes a lot of time that I don’t always have, but I LOVE the effect! Thanks for the chance to win and for sharing your fab cards!

  642. Nessy says:

Lovely card! My favorite techniques are embossing, stamp layering and coloring with colored pencils and blending with alcohol. 647. Jeanne Tipton says:

    WHAT a brilliant invention !

Just started stamping. Didn’t want to buy a lot of stamps and lots of inks because I always stamp wrong and can’t get the stamp back on the same position. And it’s an too expensive hobby to just buys lots of stuff and than not to use it.

When I saw the Misti, I got a lot of hope and … bought a lot of stamps and inks. I tried to make my own Misti tool, haha, it works, but I think your original Misti SO much better ! And I love to win one ! So the stamping finaly will work like a charm.

I bought a lot of papers with designs, but after buying stamps and inks I found out that I LOVE to make my own designs on white paper to create my own paper.
So the LARGE Misti is one of the things I would also love to buy for my large papers…
