Avery Elle Fall Release Blog Hop

AEBlogHopBadge

Hello and welcome to the Avery Elle August Release Blog Hop!  You should have arrived here from my chum Karolyn Loncon’s awesome blog but if you’re lost and want to go back to the start then head over to the Avery Elle Blog and start from there!

So ……. YAY!  The day is finally here when I get to share, not just an AMAZING new release from Avery Elle (my favourite yet) but also I get to premier my very first stamp set called Pick ‘n’ Mix that I actually designed MYSELF!!  Wait, WHAAAAAT!  I know – unbelievable!!

I can’t express how grateful I am to Jamie and Avery Elle for giving me this opportunity!  What started as a desperate need to find a gummy bear stamp (which I just couldn’t find anywhere) and a poke in the right direction from my sweet friend Heather Campbell I ended up taking the plunge into stamp designing!  Fast forward a few weeks and a few late nights learning the technicalities of Adobe Illustrator and I created my first set which grew from the first image of a little gummy bear to a whole candy shop!  I only had time to create a couple of cards before I left for our trip to Australia but this first card is pretty much what I had in my head from the very beginning.  Each of the bears is coloured with Copics and then coated in Glossy Accents (but you can’t really tell from the photo!).  I had so much fun designing this set and I really hope you all enjoy it as much as I do!

Your next stop on this amazing hop is my gorgeous, sweet friend Heather Campbell.  She has some fantastic new stamps in this release too!  Happy hopping!

Avery Elle: Balloon Giraffe

Hello and welcome to another week!  Todays Avery Elle card features another of their fabulous ballon animal stamp sets – the Giraffe!  This goes hand in hand with their other sets Party Bunny and Party Animal! I stamped the balloon Giraffe in Versamark onto black card and heat embossed it in clear powder.  You can just about make out the detail but black is so hard to photograph!!!  I wanted this card to be for my little nephew who just turned 6 so to keep it simple and a bit more “boyish” I added the frame detail using the Scalloped Frame die and die cut some stars from the Finished Frames set.  I also cut the Simply Said: Amazing die from black and used the companion stamp set to finish off the sentiment.

Avery Elle / Chameleon Pens Blog Hop

Hello – we have a fabulous blog hop celebration going on all week at Avery Elle.  We have teamed up with Chameleon Pens and every day both design teams are bringing you loads of inspiration with a chance to win some amazing prizes.

I have been playing with the Pastels set of pens and used the Cupcake stamp set.  I started with a Kraft card base from the Natural notecards pack and used one of the flowers from the Cupcake set to stamp a subtle background in Versamark ink.  I coloured the cupcake using the Bubblegum Pink and Bisque pens and chose a red Copic for the cherry!  Although it’s difficult to see I gave the frosting a coating of glossy accents and then stamped the greeting to finish.  I die cut the panel using the smaller frame from Finished Frames and mounted it on the base card.
