Avery Elle – Furry Friends

Hello – I’m over on the Avery Elle Blog today with a card I made for my neighbours who recently added the CUTEST puppy to their family.  She’s a Labradoodle called Amber and although she’s getting a bit fluffier as the weeks go by, this cute little dog from Furry Friends is a close representation of her.  I coloured her with Copics (she’s not quite that orange in real life but artistic license and all that!!) and used the Custom Panels dies to create a curved edge to my card base.  I then cut her name using the Avery’s Alpha’s Dies and placed some orange cardstock behind it to create the full card base.  I stamped the “Welcome to the neighborhood” sentiment from Home Sweet Home in a curve and finished off with a few paw prints here and there.

Of course the downside to any new puppy activity is the inevitable “mum can we get a dog … mum can we get a dog …..mum can we get a dog….”  you know how that goes!  Sadly the answer is always no (we work all day and go away quite a bit) so it wouldn’t be fair.  It is very tempting though!

Avery Elle – Fly By

I’m over on the Avery Elle blog today with a card featuring the gorgeous Fly By stamp set and dies.  I actually went for a different look and rather than use the aeroplane image I focussed on the cool sentiment dies that are included in the die collection.  I’m really into stripes at the moment (just take a look at my last few blog posts) and the Avery Elle patterned paper packs all contain a fabulous diagonal stripe paper in them.  I used the black and white one for this card from the Neutrals collection.  I also used some gold foils to give the die cut sentiment and hearts a shiny look.

It’s a bank holiday here in the UK today so I’m having a bonus day off from work – hope you’re having a great day wherever you are.

Avery Elle / Chameleon Pens Blog Hop

Hello – we have a fabulous blog hop celebration going on all week at Avery Elle.  We have teamed up with Chameleon Pens and every day both design teams are bringing you loads of inspiration with a chance to win some amazing prizes.

I have been playing with the Pastels set of pens and used the Cupcake stamp set.  I started with a Kraft card base from the Natural notecards pack and used one of the flowers from the Cupcake set to stamp a subtle background in Versamark ink.  I coloured the cupcake using the Bubblegum Pink and Bisque pens and chose a red Copic for the cherry!  Although it’s difficult to see I gave the frosting a coating of glossy accents and then stamped the greeting to finish.  I die cut the panel using the smaller frame from Finished Frames and mounted it on the base card.
