25 Days of Christmas Tags with Simon Says Stamp

Today I’m VERY excited to be joining in with the annual event hosted by the fabulous Tracey McNeely , the 25 Days of Christmas Tags.  This event is in it’s 5th year now and whilst I have never had the chance to participate before I have loved hopping along in the past seeing so much festive inspiration along the way.  Lots of my favourite companies are sponsoring the event and today it’s the turn of Simon Says Stamp so some of my teamies on the Wednesday Challenge Blog and some from the Monday Challenge Blog (waves!) have created some fabulous tags featuring some FABULOUS Simon Says Stamp products.  I used a great die from one of the releases from last Christmas, Pile of Gifts – it’s still one of my favourites!  I love the combo of cerise pink, black and gold (particularly of the foiled variety!).  This design could be for a birthday, Christmas or even a Valentine!

Avery Elle – Fa La La

It’s Avery Elle post day on my blog and today I’ve been mostly blending Distress inks!  Yes, I’m getting addicted – I can’t stop.  I used a combination of Festive Berries and Spun Sugar to create the base of my card and added some spritzing of Perfect Pearls solution and extra distress ink. The wreath from the Fa La La set was stamped and die cut twice – once in Celery pigment ink and once in Jungle.  The banner was stamped in Cherry ink and die cut.  To finish I popped the die cuts onto some foam tape and adhered everything to a white card base.

I’m starting to feel very Christmassey already – it must be all the festive cards I’ve been making lately, lol!

Simon Says … Clean and Simple Christmas

wed-newchallenge-header

Hi all and welcome to another week on the Simon Says Stamp Wednesday Challenge

Thank you for joining us for the Anything Goes Challenge and we hope you will all join us again this week too.

This week the challenge is

CLEAN AND SIMPLE CHRISTMAS

Christmas is only  78  days away so if you haven’t made a start on your preparations then maybe now is the time to think about getting all of your holiday craft products out of mothballs and making a start! Keeping your cards CAS should cut down on the time it takes to make them, you can mass produce and it also keeps the postage costs down too, a definite winner!

We are showcasing MEMORY BOX PRODUCTS this week. You don’t have to use them to join in but if you have some we would love to see them used

As always Simon Says Stamp will be giving away $50 voucher to shop at the fabulous Simon Says Stamp Store

So this week’s challenge is right up my street!  I LOVE Christmas and I LOVE CAS!  Not to mention I also LOVE Memory Box dies – what more could I ask for?  I adored this Stitched Heart Trio die set as soon as I saw it and immediately pictured them dangling like little ornaments from the EVER-SO-USEFUL Woodland Branch die.  I wanted a sort of rustic, country feel to the card to chose to use a cream card base with a Kraft panel and just to add a wee bit of interest used my favourite Avery Elle die, Wonky Stitches (how did I live before this die??).  I cut the hearts from cream and red card and layered them with some foam adhesive and added some cord.  It was a tad fiddly getting everything to stay in place whilst I waited for the glue to dry!  The sentiment is from the Christmas Florals stamp set from Avery Elle and I embossed it in an off-white embossing powder.
