Sugar rush!

If you haven’t got a sweet tooth then look away now, lol!  I’ve got a pink and girly card to share today inspired by the colours over at the new challenge blog, The Card Concept.  I think my card definitely falls into the Clean and Layered category – lots of crisp white space and clean lines but with layered images and a few embellishments.  I love the idea of this challenge – it really makes you look at your style and how it might be interpreted.

Sweet Birthday macarons The first challenge has a colour combination and/or photo inspiration – I wasn’t so much guided by the photo but more by the colours – I LOVE pink and brown together, must use it more often!!

Have a lovely Sunday where ever you are.

Case Study – turning up the heat!

Happy Saturday everyone – hope you’re enjoying your weekend?  I’ve enjoyed, erm ENDURED a week without the hubby whilst he’s been off skiing and although I’ve been struck down with a nasty cold for most of it, I have managed to fit in a bit of crafty time here and there.  I have also had a bit a of a play with my blog – just fancied a change – what do you think??  There’s still some bits and pieces I want to tweak but on the whole I think it’s ok!!

So my card today was inspired by Donna Mikasa who is the current muse over at Case Study Challenge. Whilst hers screams “cool” I kinda veered the other way and went HOT!!  Well, we need some warmth at this time of year, don’t we??  (Australians need not answer that!!!).

merry Christmas Reindeer (1) I used my Martha Stewart mini score board to deboss some lines on to my mat then brayered over it with Dried Marigold distress ink.  The sentiment from the new Clearly Besotted Say it in Style set was then heat embossed in white.  To make it pop a wee bit more I rubbed some Spiced Marmalade DI just around the sentiment – adds just a touch of dimension!  Well, I am being a taxi for the best part of the afternoon so better get some jobs done!  Have a lovely weekend everyone xxx

A bit of flower arranging!

Hey everyone.  Here with a card I have had in my head ever since Steph showed us the Love Birds stamps and dies released this month from Clearly Besotted.  I bought the Fresh Cut Florals from Wplus9 a few months ago but with Christmas and all that jazz – this is the first chance I’ve had to ink them up!  I die cut and stamped a load of flowers and leaves the other day and last night decided to get busy with a bit of flower arranging!  I adore the little birdcage from CBS so I die cut it in white and then made a “bed” of blooms for it to nestle into.  I am also slightly obsessed with the Falling Hearts die from Simon Says Stamp so used it again as a back drop created with embossing paste – you can’t see the dimension in the photo but it looks quite effective IRL!

Once again, I am able to enter the Wednesday Challenge over at the Simon Says Stamp blog as this time they are asking us to “Emboss It”.
