wed-newchallenge-header

Hi all and welcome to another week on the Simon Says Stamp Wednesday Challenge

Thank you for joining us for the Special Lady/Girly Challenge and we hope you will all join us again this week too.

We will be back soon with the name of the lucky winner of the $50 Voucher

This week the challenge is

THINGS THAT FLY

Spring will soon be here and our gardens will be buzzing with bees, butterflies, birds and all sorts of little insects. It is also at around this time of year that our thoughts turn to summer vacations and flying away to sunny locations ! There are so many options that you can use for this challenge !

We are showcasing AMERICAN CRAFTS PRODUCTS this week. You don’t have to use them to join in but if you have some we would love to see them used

As always Simon Says Stamp will be giving away $50 voucher to shop at the fabulous Simon Says Stamp Store

I was inspired by the gorgeous black and yellow colour scheme in the March Simon Says Stamp kit so started with that by pulling out some card and polka dot patterned paper and of course the FABULOUS border die!  I’ve also been DIE-ing (geddit) to play with the Kite shaker die from the Hop To It release which of course ties in beautifully with our “Things That Fly” challenge theme.  I used some American Crafts twine to create the tail of the kite and filled the kite shaker with some white sequins.  After waiting for it on backorder I just got my Wishing sentiments stamps and dies and thought the font went perfectly with the kite theme.

Lawn Fawn 5th Birthday Blog Hop

GetAttachment

Hello there – you should’ve arrived here from my lovely friend Lol’s blog (Lorraine’s Loft).  If not and you’d like to hop back to the start then pop over to Jenn’s and go from there.  I am so happy to be joining in with this fabulous blog hop celebrating 5 wonderful years of Lawn Fawn.   I pulled out my all time favourite set for my card – Into The Woods.  I created my sentiment using Milo’s ABC’s, used patterned paper from Let’s Polka and also used the the speech bubble border die.

I wish Kelly and Mike a fabulous 5th birthday and hope for many more years of wonderful Lawn Fawn magic!

Please now pop along to the wonderful Sharna and have fun on the rest of the hop.

4 bookmarks for 4 bookworms!

Hello and HAPPY MONDAY!  It’s Avery Elle day every Monday on my blog and today I’m sharing a cute little project I made over the weekend.  My 4 girls are always reading AND they are all big animal lovers (if I had a penny for every time I’d heard “can we get a dog?” I’d be living it up in the Caribbean right now!!).  We are definitely a cat family though so I thought I’d combine some amazing new Avery Elle products and create a little bookmark for each of them.  (I didn’t make one for my 15 year old son – he’s far too cool for that)!  I definitely need more practice colouring animals – please don’t look too closely, lol!  Aren’t they adorable stamps though – the critters from Furry Friends sit perfectly on top of the books from the This Book stamp set – my personal favourite is the ginger one curled up asleep on top of the books – that’s so what a cat would do!

I stamped each of the animals onto masking paper and cut them out (only the bottom half needs to be cut if you’re in a hurry) and then I stamped each one on to a bookmark die cut from white card stock.  I then placed the mask over the animals and stamped the pile of books below them so each one looks perfectly perched on top of the stack of books!  I just coloured them in with Copic markers (not brilliantly though, I need to go back and revisit the Copic colouring class from Online Card Classes I think – where is Kathy Racoosin when I need her, lol??)

Thanks for stopping by today – happy crafting xxx
