Simon Says Stamp Wednesday Challenge : Emboss It!

Hello! It’s Wednesday which means a fab new challenge over at the Simon Says Wednesday Challenge blog. The theme of this week’s challenge is EMBOSS IT!

Can’t wait to see all the different ways to use embossing – heating embossing powders, using pastes and texture mediums or good old fashioned dry embossing!

For my card this week I used both heat embossing (for the flower image) and embossing paste (on the chicken wire stencil). I stamped the orchid from Clearly Besotted Stamps Thinking of You in Versamark then heat embossed in WOW! Bright White ep. I coloured the image using distress ink pads as water colours. The chicken wire effect was created using a The Crafters Workshop stencil and Dreamweaver embossing paste in white.

It’s Avery Elle / Authentique Week!

It’s Authentique and Avery Elle week! This week the Avery Elle design team is playing with Authentique papers, Life Cards and embellishments. After visiting here, be sure to check out the Authentique Blog for even more inspiration using both companies products! I have to admit – when I first received the Authentique goodies I was SCARED!! I’m more of a CAS girl and the mixes of patterns and designs was intimidating!! BUT – once I started pulling some of the papers out and combining them with Avery Elle stamps and dies, the cards kinda just came together!!

For both samples, the card bases are from the “Harmony” collection “Card making stack”. This is a “book” of pre-scored A2 cards and co-ordinates with lots of other ephemera and patterned papers. It was a step out of my comfort zone but I thoroughly enjoyed it there!!!

Happy Father’s Day (I know – it’s late!!)

Hello all – I’m here today with a card I made using some of my favourite Simon Says Stamp exclusive products. I am lucky enough to have both the Falling Stars AND Falling Hearts dies and I absolutely love them! They cut beautifully and instantly “make” any card! There isn’t much more needed when you have such an awesome die like this one!! I also used Simon’s Happy word die. The size of this die is perfect for a card front!
