Popping with a quick card I made using the new May 2016 Card Kit from Simon Says Stamp. This kit just shouts SUMMER (which we need some sign of here in the UK). It’s got a fabulously fun stamp set full of cute little images and sentiments. The LAwn Fawn papers are so pretty and the colours are gorgeous. Hope to get more time to play with this awesome kit over the next week so I’ll post some more when I do!

I decided to create a floral Mother’s Day card for the challenge this week. It was last month here in the UK but I know elsewhere in the world it is in May so I’m not entirely behind with this card!!! I used the pretty Fronds stamp set from Stampendous to create a simple bunch of flowers – they could have been picked fresh out of any English country garden!! I stamped them in a light ink then used Zig Clean Colour Markers to colour loosely over the image. To give it a more water coloured appearance I went over the ink with a water brush. I die cut the panel with the Scalloped Dotted Border die from Avery Elle and finished with some twine and a few sequins.

As soon as I saw this Hero Arts stamp set in action I knew it needed to go right into my basket! I tried lots of different colour combos but the one I favoured was this one using a mixture of Hero Arts, Simon Says Stamp and Ranger dye inks (listed below). The top layer was also restamped using Versamark and clear embossed to add even more dimension. I love the final look of these gorgeous orchid images. To colour match the sentiment I used the Wild Orchid dye ink from Ranger and coloured a piece of card before die cutting with the “birthday” from A Tag For All from Avery Elle.
