This card was inspired by another I made at Christmas (you can find the details HERE).  I was asked to make a Valentines card for a friend of mine with a duck-egg blue and red combo (one of my favourites!) and so thought I’d put my Minc to good use and create this.  The sheet music is from an image I found on the internet which I printed onto vellum on my laser printer.  I then added the mint-coloured foil with the Minc and die cut the panel using the Wonky Stitches die from Avery Elle.    The card base is from the Caribbean Collection of notecards (Avery Elle also) and I created a watercolour piece to go under the vellum just to give a subtle background texture.

ANYTHING GOES MEMORY BOX CU
I printed off a sheet of solid black toner and then ran it through the minc with more of the mint foil and also some red.  I then die cut my pieces and assembled them on the front of the card.

Avery Elle … Hogs and Kisses

I have a card today using the fabulous Hogs and Kisses stamp set from Avery Elle – isn’t it amazing?  Love the little faces on the Valentine’s critters – especially the piggy!!  I used the pierced rectangles and some new dies coming at the end of February – pierced clouds!!  Thought I’d go for a more non-traditional approach to my Valentine’s card for hubby this year – no pinks or reds this time!! I coloured the images with Copics and popped the hearts up for a bit more dimension.

I’m going all gold-tastic this week and it all started with the acetate pad from We R Memory Keepers!  Whilst I was perusing the Simon Says Stamp store looking for something fun for this challenge I stumbled across this 6×6 pad of acetate – it has 4 different patterns (stripes, spots, leopard print and dotty chevrons) in gold, silver and black and it’s AHHHH-MAZING!  My first thought was to use the acetate for the window on a shaker card but then I decided I’d used it as a layer on my card instead.  I made a 4 1/4x x 5″ card from Neenah Solar White 110lb card and cut a piece of the gold spotty acetate to the same width (i didn’t trim anything off the length).  I then scored this at the top and folded it over adhering it just on the back so it hangs sort of loose on the front (if that makes sense??).   My window is just made from vellum using the stitched circles as a frame na d filled it with confetti from this months (Feb) SSS Card Kit.  I die cut the Sending die from gold glitter card and used the sentiment from the co-ordinating stamp set embossed in gold.

Shake it up
