Simon Says … Happy Birthday!

Hi all and welcome to another week on the Simon Says Stamp Wednesday Challenge

We are celebrating our 6th Birthday ! WOO HOO ! Our 1st ever challenge was on Wednesday 1st April 2009, hasn’t time flown ! We would like to take this opportunity to thank YOU all for joining in with the challenges !

We are showcasing our very own SIMON SAYS STAMP EXCLUSIVE PRODUCTS this week. You don’t have to use them to join in but if you have some we would love to see them used

I’m so thrilled to be able to celebrate the 6th birthday of Simon Says Stamp with them! I don’t think there is a better company out there in terms of supply, (they always have the latest products available), customer service (this is just second to none in my experience), value (I frequently order from the UK and the prices and shipping costs are great) and just general “niceness” (I can’t express how fabulous they are to work with – every one of the team is a total pleasure!). There are are just so many good things I can say about them.

I created a birthday card in they’re honour using some of their newest products and what is becoming one of my favourite dies! I stamped the three different outline flowers from Artful Flowers onto Tim Holtz water colour card using Versamark and then heat embossed them in white. I then chose three colours from the Kuratke Gamsai water colour palette and simply coloured three flowers in each colour. I don’t yet own the dies to co-ordinate with this set so I cut each one out and then just arranged them (I TRIED to be as random as possible) on the card and stuck them in place using glue dots. I die cut the Wishing sentiment using Fog SSS card and stamped the sentiment in black under neath.

Avery Elle: Party Bunny

Good afternoon – I’m here with my usual Monday dose of Avery Elle goodness and this time I’ve been playing with Party Bunny and the Balloons sets. It may not look it but this card was a real challenge! I could’ve done with about 10 hands to make it – the balloons just wouldn’t go where I wanted them! I probably made it more difficult for myself than it needed to be but I got there in the end! Look how perfectly lined up the stamps are on those die-cuts. That’s all down to the MISTI – I didn’t waste a single balloon – love that thing!

ANYTHING GOES

We are showcasing Spectrum Noir Products this week and they very kindly provided the Design Team with some of the new Aqua Markers to use and we have to say, we all really loved using them. If you have any Spectrum Noir Products we would love to see them used but it isn’t necessary for the challenge, you can still join in without them.

AND Spectum Noir will also be giving away an Aqua Markers set of the winners choice to one lucky winner !

I do love to get engrossed in a bit of grown up colouring in! These gorgeous markers are so vibrant so the colours are really easy to use – and co-ordinate beautifully with each other. I had this stunning Altenew set in my stash unused (what? I know – how can that be?!) so I knew it was high time to give it some love. I chose a selection of purple and aqua tones from the Primaries and Essentials sets and coloured the flowers and leaves and then fussy cut them all out. I used Tim Holtz watercolour paper and finished them all off with a light spritzing of Studio Calico shimmer spray. The base card is from Avery Elle from the Royal collection of notecards and I cut the Simon Says Stamp Sending sentiment from the same cardstock.
