Sparkle and Shine!

I’m absolutely LOVING the December Card Kit from Simon Says Stamp.  The cool colours are so perfect for this time of year and the embossing powders included in the kit are amazing.

The stamp set is full of fabulous sentiments and images – I know I’m going to get endless use out of that Sparkle and Shine sentiment, the font is gorgeous.

I have another card created using the kit to share with you later in the week and will back tomorrow with my SSS Wednesday Challenge card.

THANKS/THANKSGIVING

The STAMPtember release had LOTS of gorgeous products that celebrate Thanksgiving and giving thanks in general.  I love the Clearly Besotted/Simon Says Stamp collaboration stamp sets and the Wreath set is just perfect for a Thank You card design.  I stamped and embossed one of the wreaths in gold on cream card (can’t get enough of gold at the moment!) and then die cut it.  The little pine cones are stamped in Avery Elle Truffle pigment ink and then highlighted (which of course you can’t see in the photo) with little touches of gold Wink of Stella ink.  I scored a few lines on the top part of the cream card base and then splatted a few spots of Heidi Swapp gold colour shine on to it.  I made a little bow out of some DMC fine gold thread for the wreath and also wrapped some around the top of the card.  I cut the Thanks Card Die  from kraft cardstock and then assembled everything together.

So back to this week’s challenge.  I’ve got a gold-tastic card to share with you this week – it’s so shimmery in real life.  For the large stars I used the Simon Says Stamp Mosaic Stars stencil from the STAMPtember release.  It’s the first chance I’ve had to play with this stencil so when I saw the challenge theme was “Seeing Stars” I went straight for it!  I used a gold glitter effect texture paste with the stencil and then accented the card with some little cork stars from Studio Calico.  I actually spritzed them first with Heidi Swapp gold lame colour shine spray and then coated them with Glossy Accents.  To finish I added some gold thread and a gorgeous sentiment from Clearly Besotted’s Most Wonderful stamp set stamped in gold Delicata ink.
