Avery Elle, May Arts and UmWowStudio week!

This week the Avery Elle design team is playing with some ribbon from May Arts and fun products from UmWowStudio.

When I saw the little packet of wooden stars from UmWowStudio I thought of making a shaker card but when my first attempt failed disastrously, I changed tack a wee bit and decided to just fill the whole space with stars!  I embossed one of the larger stars in gold just to add a little bit of extra bling!  The wired “ribbon” from May Arts was glued in place with little dots of glossy accents.

Hello - blog hop 2

Hello - blog hop 2

To keep the “wood” theme going I stamped the woodgrain stamp from Woodgrain and More in Fog pigment ink and sponged a little extra around the edges.  I also die cut the Hello die from a sheet of 1mm double-sided foam adhesive and added a die-cut of the same in white on top. I love the way it gives dimension to the whole word as opposed to trying to place lots of tiny little squares of foam My fellow teamie, the gorgeous Yainea has another amazing creation on her blog today too so make sure you check it out.

Be sure to check out the Avery Elle Blog all this week for projects using May Arts ribbon and UmWowStudio products.

Avery Elle April/May Release Blog Hop!

AEBlogHopBadge

Hey everyone – if hopping along you should have arrived here from Brenda Weaver’s wonderful blog – are you enjoying everything you’ve seen so far?  I’m so delighted to be joining in on my first ever Avery Elle Blog Hop – this release is just amazing and I’m sure you’ll agree – there is something for everyone!  I have two cards to share with you both showcasing the stunning Write It stamp set.  This is a fabulous calligraphy style sentiment set (sooooo trendy right now) that you are going to just fall in love with.

Seriously Awesome (Write It)For the first card I used Avery Elle card stock in Daisy and Sea Glass and stamped the sentiment with gold Delicata ink.  Like that background pattern?  It from another new set being released called Woodgrain and More!

Write ItFor the next card  I stamped the sentiment in Spiced Marmalade distress ink and then went over it with a water brush to spread the ink around.  I also added some splatters with the brush too.  When it was all dry I stamped over the original stamp with Versafine Onyx Black.

The next stop on the hop is the gorgeous and talented (and so sweet) Heather Campbell.  If you want to go back and start at the beginning, the order is listed at the end of this post.
