Friday Sketchers challenge – I’ve used my promarkers!

I hope I’m not being too boring but I just can’t resist using this stamp over and over again! I’ve never had this before. Normally I use a stamp a couple of times and then move on to something new but Daisy is just such a beautiful image – she’s irresistable.

I have coloured her this time with my new promarkers which I love. I’m still getting used to them and am not sure I really know what I’m doing – especially with the belnding pen – but I love the even colour you get compared to the watercolours. Don’t get me wrong, I’m not giving them up but am glad I’ve got something as an alternative.

Anyway, this card is my take on the sketch over at the Friday Sketchers challenge. At first I thought it looked a bit basic but I totally loved using it and will definitley use it again. Did you notice the stitching again too? Can’t seem to stay away from that sewing machine right now.

Go and visit this brand new blog – it’s gorgeous!

Ok, you may accuse me of being a bit of an enabler here and you’d be right to do so but I want to tell you about a new blog dedicated to the gorgeous Papertrey Ink brand. I am only just discovering how pretty this stuff is and have discovered it through a blog I visit every day, Much Ado About Nothing. Steph makes absolutley amazing cards and uses a lot of products by PTI as well as SU!. She and her friend Kate have just launched this new blog, A Passion for Papertrey which will have challenges and loads of ideas from their DT. I am nothing to do with them but just wanted to support Steph and Kate by helping to promote their fledgling blog – I think it’s going to be a huge success.

Right, I’m off to have a look at what’s on offer in the PTI shop. Hubby’s out for the night so he’ll know nothing about it until it appears on the bank statement. I think there should be some way of masking our purchases from unwelcome eyes – couldn’t the purchases appear on the statement as something else that they would never dare say anything about us buying? Feminine hygiene products maybe? lol

Baby, it’s cold outside!

It flippin is as well! This card is for the challenge this week at Charisma Cards which is Hugs and Cuddles. I know we should be embracing the coming of Spring right now and none of us really wants to be feeling any colder than we already do, but this is the only stamp I have that fits the brief so I made a (sort of) christmas card! I actually bought this stamp because it made me think of the “toasty sessions” me and my then boyfriend (now hubby of nearly 14 years!!!) used to have at university up in Dundee. We shared a big old rickety house with 7 other people, had no heating other than a cruddy fan heater, windows with gaps around them that a small rodent could fit through (and probably did – shudder), carpets that could hardly be described as “wall-to-wall” and intermittent hot water!! Imagine the Young Ones and you probably get the picture (not the Cliff version by the way!). Anyhoo, sometimes me and Chris would just dive under the duvet and snuggle up just to get warm – nothing saucy, we still had our 7 layers of clothes on, but it was kinda romantic and we called them our “toasty sessions”. Dundee is a VERY cold place in the winter so we had to keep warm somehow – lol.
This is the first shaped card I’ve made with my nesties and I really enjoyed the different look I got. I have seen a few other people do this and have loved their cards so it was about time I gave it a try.

Right, it’s back to school tomorrow and I still have to iron the uniforms, make up 4 lunch boxes, wash and refill the PE bags and watch last weeks America’s Next Top Model!! Looks like I’ll be up late again!!!
