PASSION FOR PROMARKERS – LAUNCH DAY!

DOUBLE POST, PLEASE SCROLL DOWN

Yes, it’s finally here. Today the challenges begin over at the FABULOUS new blog Passion for Promarkers set up by Gina and Denise. If you already use promarkers or are just curious as to what they are and how to use them then you MUST check out this blog. It’s not JUST challenges either. There will be lots of tips on how to make the most of your markers and you’ll get LOTS AND LOTS of inspiration from the amazing design team. Each week the challenge will focus on 2 or 3 specific colours. Your creation must have these colours as your main focal point but you can use other ones along side them if you wish.

The first challenge is “Anything Goes” so the only rule is that your creation must include the use of at least one promarker. We want as many people to join us as possible and have some spectacular prizes on offer from our hugley generous sponsors for this first challenge.

3 ribbon kits from Angel Crafts

2 stamps from Dies to Die For

5 sheets of downloads from Daisy May Digi Stamps

AN ENTIRE SET OF 92 PROMARKERS from Joanna Sheen!!

A Beach Sprinkles stamp from Pink Gem Designs.

If you don’t own a promarker yet then all three of our sponsors stock them. If you have to wait till your next pay day but don’t want to miss out on the chance to win then be extra nice to any friends you might have that own a promarker and borrow them!!

This is my card for our first challenge using a gorgeous Pink Gem Designs stamp. I have stamped him using Memento Tuxedo black ink onto good quality white card.

The colours I have used are

Lemon, canary, gold, mustard and pumpkin on his bee suit. (I shaded the yellow stripes in the palest yellow, LEMON to start then added canary from the edge to about a third in on either side. I then coloured with gold on each side but not as far in as the canary and then finally added a small area of mustard and a thin line of pumpkin to the darkest areas). I have also outlined the wings with canary and then gone around him with the lemon.

Apple, moss and meadow green on the grass and stalks and

blush, orange and mandarin on the flowers.

Cool grey 1 and warm grey 1plus a touch of satin around the edges of his fur just to give a hint of shadow.

The design team have done some amazing cards for this challenge so please go to the blog and check them out. So much inspiration to be had!!

Hope you can join us.

It’s Tuesday so it’s another fabby challenge over at A Spoonful of Sugar. This week we want to see you use lace on your cards. The DT have done wonders with their creations this week so please pop on over and take a look.
I have used that Gorjuss girl which is fast becoming my favourite one. She is coloured with promarkers (pastel blue, cornflower blue and china blue) as well as cocoa, cinanamon, raw umber, henna and burnt umber for the hair. The lace paper is from Joanna Sheen.

Right – just a quickie this morning – have shed loads of paperwork to do!!

Have a great day.

Cupcake Crafts Challenge #41 – Erin’s number 2’s!!

HAPPY BANK HOLIDAY MONDAY!!
It was DT member Erin’s turn to pick the challenge this week at Cupcake Crafts and she chose to do a recipe. This was inspired by the fact that her little girl is turning 2 so her challenge is based on the number 2!! I have to admit when she said she wanted to see our number 2’s I did titter somewhat (mind of a 2 year old myself sometimes!). So this is what she asked for:

“Today’s challenge is all about the number 2! It’s my daughter’s second birthday, so I thought that would be a great way to celebrate!!! So in your sample please include 2 colors(plus a neutral), 2 shapes on the card, and 2 pieces of ribbon. Feel free to add any other embellies too:) Looking forward to seeing your 2’s!!! Have fun!”

For my 2 colours I went for red and pastel blue, taken from the gorgeous Stampin Up! Summer Picnic paper which I seem to be using on EVERY card these days!! I have cheated a bit with a wee touch of green on the grass and there is green on the paper too but if you pretend that’s not there then there are just the two colours!! My image is from one of my new Pink Gem stamps, Sprinkles on a toadstool. She’s gorgeous isn’t she? The scalloped border is my Martha Stewart punch and I have also punched some daisies for my other shape (as well as the rectangle mat for the image). The image is coloured with promarkers (poppy and berry red on the toadstool and pastel blue and cornflower blue on the fairy. Yellow, lemon, canary, gold, and mustard on the hair and satin and blush on the toadstool base). The wings and crown have been glamour dusted with crystal and gold respectivley!!
The other DT girls have done a fantastic job as ever this week so pop on over for a wee look. Hope you can join us in the challenge.

Speaking of challenges, it is now just one more sleep until the Passion For Promarkers challenge blog goes live!! The whole team are just SOOOO excited and can’t wait for it all to kick off tomorrow. If you haven’t been already then please go on over to the blog and just have a look at the fabulous prizes on offer for this first challenge. To enter all you need to do is incluse at least one promarker colour on your creation and you could be in with a chance of winning. Hope to see as many of you as possible.
