A Spoonful of Sugar #55 – Butterflies

Afternoon all, just a quickie from me – house looks like a tsunami just hit! I tried to schedule this post for this morning but somehow managed to delete everything I had written – will get the hang of it eventually!

Over at A Spoonful Of Sugar this week we wanna see BUTTERFLIES!! Yes, it’s new challenge time and what a lovley challenge it is too. We have a great prize donated by Nutcrafters so pop over and have a look. The cards done by the other DT members are stunning but I have to say I’m not all that happy with mine :0( this week. If I had had the time I would have done another one but hey-ho – you win some you lose some!! All the elements came from a K&Co kit I bought from QVC when I first began crafting about 5 years ago. I have bearly used it as most of it is way too flowery and chintzy for my style. I will go and stand in the corner now and repeat the phrase “Must do better” over and over whilst hitting my head with a plastic ruler!!!

Passion For Promarkers #3 – Cinnamon and Pumpkin.

It’s week 3 at Passion For Promarkers and the colours this week are probably my all time favourite combo – Pumpkin and Cinnamon (think chocolate orange, mmmm). I hope you’re all enjoying this new challenge blog as much as we on the DT are and judging by the entries we’re getting, there are lots of passionate promarketeers out there!! The rest of the DT’s cards this week are just out of this world so please go and check them out, they’re inspirational and all very different.

For my card I have used my favourite ever digi stamp, the gorgeous unicorn by The Greeting Farm. I can’t seem to get bored of this little filly!!

She is predominantly coloured with Pumpkin with touches of mandarin and orange for the shadows. For her mane and tail I have used cinnamon with streaks of spice and cocoa. The papers are Stampin Up! and the ribbons and fibres are from Raspberry Ribbons – yum. There’s a bit of orange stickles on her horn and the butterfly too.

We have a fabulous prize again this week which is a £10 voucher kindly donated by Hotshot Crafts.
Hope to see you over at the blog.

Cupcake Crafts Challenge #43 – Ida’s colours

It’s the start of a new week so that means a new challenge over at Cupcake Crafts. Our lovley Ida chose the theme for this week’s challenge which is to use the colours shown in the image above to make a card for a child. This is what she said:

“If you have visited my blog you will see that I just love these colors, so for this challenge I want to see cards made for kids with the colors in picture. I think the color combo works well for both boys & girls. The Top 5 winners will all receive a RAK from me in addition to the funky Top 5 blinkie! I can’t wait to see what you all come up with. “

I thought her choice of colours was gorgeous and for some reason I immediatley thought of the Frilly Millies from Pink Petticoat (no longer available unfortunatley). She is coloured with promarkers, of course and the papers are from Colourbok (a kit I bought in America a couple of years back – PERFECT match for this weeks challenge).

PMs used – HAIR (primrose, canary, gold), CLOTHES (carmine, ruby, sky blue, turquoise), OTHERS (lime green, warm grey).

Make sure you nip on over to the blog to see the other girls cards – they’re all stunning as usual!

Ok, must go – my ironing pile seems to have reproduced while we were away this wekend!!

Hugs,
Caryn xxx
