Papertrey Ink – DT colour challenge

Another day another AMAZING announcement over on Nichole Heady’s blog, Capture The Moment.  In the run up to the 15th (new release day) there have been some amazing celebrations and announcements going on and today is no exception.  The DT have each come up with a gorgeous colour combination they love to use and have challenged everyone to have a go creating something in those colours.  I was immediately drawn to Dawn McVeys (although I adore them ALL) :

  ..and here is my card…
I haven’t used any patterned paper on this card and have stamped onto the Summer Sunrise base layer with Dark Chocolate ink using one of the stamps from Polka Dots Basics.  The focal point is from Spring Tags (very kindly on loan to me from my pal Kate) which is stamped onto Kraft.  I have also used the Vintage Labels set (designed to go perfectly with the nesties) again stamped in Dark Chocolate.
Right,
Can’t sit here all day, have a million emails to follow up and another cup of coffee to drink!!  Need the energy!!

Passion For ProMarkers #38 – Agean, Skye Blue and Cool Aqua.

Well this is a day late as I have been completely without t’internet for almost two days!!  It’ so debilitataing!!!

Our challenge at Passion For ProMarkers this week is a colour theme – Agean, Sky Blue and Cool Aqua.  These scream snow to me so I opted for a very early Christmas card!!  One of my favouruite Mo Manning images, Kai in the Snow has been coloured using the challenge colours and then a little bit of ice stickles and there we have it.  The dotty background is Stampin Up Bashful Blue card stamped in Fresh Snow ink from PTI with the Polka Dot Basics set.  I can’t get enough of these stamps!!!  Please check out the rest of the DT’s cards – they’re all amazing as ever!!
Have a great day,

Papertrey Ink Emboss-Resist Challenge

Ok, this is the first time I have EVER tried this technique – I am way too safe to be dabbing ink directly onto anything!!  However, I have been avidly following the anniversary celebrations over on Nichole Heady’s amazing blog for the last 5 days and today she has set a challenge to use this technique.  There is going to be a challenge every Monday which is so exciting to me now that I own a healthy supply of PTI goodies (more to be added V soon!!).  If you, like me are new to this technique then there is a great video tutorial (videorial??) showing how it’s done over on Nichole’s blog.  I have used my Peaceful Poinsettia stamp set (there is a GORGEOUS background stamp in this set) with Aqua Mist and Ocean Tides inks and card.  The little sentiment is from the Mega Mixed Messages set.
Well, got my fingers and toes crossed as there is another awesome prize up for grabs.  I wonder what tommorrow will bring?!

Hugs,
