Mo’s Digital Challenge #12 – New Beginnings

Wow, here we almost are, in 2010!!!  I can’t belive it, what a year it’s been.  Let’s hope 2010 is a good one and we can start to see the back of this awful recession, get people back into jobs and see and end to all the bloodshed and war.  Here’s to a great year ahead of us.

To mark the new year, our challenge hostess over at Mo’s Digital Challenge, Lydia gave us the theme – “New Beginnings”.

This week our hostess, Lydia, is looking for cards and projects that represent a “New Beginning”… so what’s that?  Well, it can mean a new baby, the New Year, a new job, new home, or anything else that you decide is ‘new’. So, grab your pencils, copics or whatever you wish and join in the fun.

I have used one of Mo’s generous freebies over on Paper Craft Planet.  Why not pop over and join the group so you can grab it too!  The DT’s creation are magnificent as ever so please join in with us this week if you can.  What better challenge to start the new year with eh?

Right, I have the rest of the house to tidy for tonight (having the parents round for a Scottish supper to celebrate Hogmanay) so better get on with it.  See you all next year!

WOYWW – Not very much (for a change)!

Thought I’d share this rare picture taken this morning of my workdesk.  I have had a good old sort out last night ready to start my creative new year with a clear space – start as I mean to go on and all that!!  Julia (Stamping Ground) does a regular “What’s on Your Workdesk Wednesday” but I’m usually too ashamed to let anyone see the mess I’m always in.

Anyway, hope everyone has had a wonderful festive season.  I’m so sad it’s all over again for another year – I’d have Christmas 2010 next week if I could!!  I can’t bear the thought of all my decorations coming down – everything always feels so cold and bare after the rich Christmas colours are taken away.

Well, whatever you’re all doing tommorrow night, have fun and I wish you all the best of health and happiness for 2010.

Hugs,
Caryn xxx

Cupcake Crafts #71 – A Time for Celebration

This is the last challenge of the year over at Cupcake Crafts and sadly it is my last challenge as a DT member too.  I am struggling to fulfill my DT obligations at the moment so rather than stress my self out and risk letting the challenge runners down, I thought it best to step aside and let some other talented ladies take the spot. I would like to say a huge THANK YOU to Donna and the rest of the amazing Design Team and am truly saddened to have to give it up.  Life gets in the way though so it has to be.

For this last challenge “A time to celebrate” I have used a Stamping Bella image (stamped whilst rummaging through Steph’s collection when I was down there a few weeks ago!!).  I have never made a “pregnancy” card before but I thought this image was just so gorgeous.  The papers are from a Cosmo Cricket mini deck and the image is coloured with ProMarkers.

Right, another busy day ahead of me so off I go to make my boxes for the Christmas table.  If I get them done I’ll share them later – things do have a habit of getting in the way these days though!!

Hugs,
Caryn xxx
