Clearly Besotted July Teasers start today!!

Hello – today sees the start of the July release teasers over at Clearly Besotted Stamps. This month has another bevy of beautiful stamps and dies and today I’m highlighting one of the standalone die collections – these GORGEOUS Butterflies. There are 4 dies in total two solids and two overlay, lace effect ones.

I used a combination of distress inks to colour a piece of card and then die cut the solid butterflies. I then cut the lacy ones and layered them over the solids. The sentiment is from another new set being released this month, All Occasion Sentiments.

Avery Elle – Signature Dies

Hi there! Sharing some simple cards I made using the fabulous new Summer release from Avery Elle. I’ve used the Signature dies to emboss a “frame” onto the front of the card panel and (one of my favourite stamps from this collection) the diamond from Many Thanks to create cards for those “milestone” anniversaries (emerald, sapphire and ruby). The sentiment is from So Happy.

If you haven’t used your dies to emboss before then it’s very simple to do. You will need to get yourself a rubber or silicone mat and then play with the levels of your die-cutting machine to see what combination works best (I have a Bigshot so I use the multi-purpose platform (top layer off), a rubber mat and then the two cutting plates as a sandwich). What you will end up with is the shape of the die embossed rather than cut all the way through. It opens up all kinds of new possibilities with your dies – I squealed the first time I used this technique!!!!

Happy Father’s Day (I know – it’s late!!)

Hello all – I’m here today with a card I made using some of my favourite Simon Says Stamp exclusive products. I am lucky enough to have both the Falling Stars AND Falling Hearts dies and I absolutely love them! They cut beautifully and instantly “make” any card! There isn’t much more needed when you have such an awesome die like this one!! I also used Simon’s Happy word die. The size of this die is perfect for a card front!
