You’re My Hero: TAYLORED EXPRESSIONS

Hello there.  Today I’m over on the Taylored Expressions blog with a couple of funky cards created using the fantastic You’re My Hero stamp set and co-ordinating dies.  I picked this set as three of my children play rock instruments and so this set is going to be VERY useful for them and their rocker friends!

I made 2 cards using one of the guitar images and that amazing splatter background – I LOVE it!

There’s lots of heat embossing going on and with the addition of a few carefully placed sprinkles (Doodlebug) the cards came together very easily (thanks to the amazing stamps of course).

Avery Elle – Gift Tags.

Hello!  Just popping in with a card I made featuring the fabulous Gift Tags stamp set and dies from Avery Elle.  I created an embossed background using a stencil from The Crafters Workshop and then die-cut the tags from the brand new Avery Elle Sorbet 6×6 patterned paper pad.  The wee rabbit is from Storybook (so cute).

wed-newchallenge-header

Hello!  Today is a very exciting day for me.  In case you didn’t hear my squeals when I got the news, I was picked to join the Design Team at the Simon Says Wednesday Challenge !! And with it being Wednesday and all, here I am to share my first card!  I am absolutely honoured to be joining an amazing line up of designers along with my other two newbie pals Virginia Lu and Jenn Shurkus!  Check out their amazing blogs (although I’m sure you know perfectly well who they are already)!!

Anyway, onto the challenge.   The theme this week is is DOTS AND SPOTS and we’re showcasing products from Paper Smooches.

I can’t wait to see how you interpret this challenge – there are so many options available to you – stamps, paper, embossing folders, stencils… the list is endless!

For my card this week I used the Paper Smooches Spiffy Scooters stamp set and the Borders 1 die collection.   Just because I do so love spots I added a bit more dotty interest using the Simon Says Stamp Falling Snow stencil with some Distress Ink in Spun Sugar.  And although it doesn’t show as well in the photo as in real life – the sides (I’m sure there’s a technical name for them!!) of the scooter are coated in Prisma glitter and then covered with Glossy Accents – yum!!

NOTE:  The papers I’ve used here are currently not in stock at the SSS store but a good alternative can be found HERE!

Dots and spots And as always, the AMAZINGLY generous peeps at Simon Says Stamp love to reward your efforts with an awesome $50 gift voucher for one one lucky, randomly drawn participant!  Yay!!
