Noel – Avery Elle

Hello – I’m here today to share a couple of cards featuring one of my favourite sets of the year – NOEL from Avery Elle.  I just love the big, bold Nordic-style fonts and gorgeous snowflake images – it’s such a useful set.  The three snowflake dies that compliment the set are also absolute MUST HAVE’S in your collection – again – perfects sizes for all kinds of projects (I have a post coming up soon featuring other ways I’ve used this set – stay tooned!!!)

So, to say I have an unhealthy obsession with Glossy Accents is an understatement!  I buy it three at a time and start to get palpitations when I get down to my last bottle!  This card is a perfect example of why I love it so much!  LOOK how it turned that snowflake die-cut into what looks like an acrylic or enamel embellishment – swoon!

I cut the snowflakes from white card and then used a Copic marker to add a touch of colour to the edges.  I coated the snowflakes with a clear Wink of Stella and them covered them in GA and waited patiently for them to dry.  I stamped the NOEL sentiment in Tumbled Glass distress ink (a perfect match for the snowflake) and finished it off with some white twine. noel 2 close

My second card is possibly not one you’d really want to send in the mail – it weighs a ton!!  I used the large snowflake to create a shaker window out of some Avery Elle Sea glass cardstock and filled it with tiny, little micro-beads.  I cut a smaller snowflake from white card and popped it onto the middle of the window finished with a silver sequin.  The NOEL sentiment was used again but this time heat embossed in white.

The STAMPtember release had LOTS of gorgeous products that celebrate Thanksgiving and giving thanks in general.  I love the Clearly Besotted/Simon Says Stamp collaboration stamp sets and the Wreath set is just perfect for a Thank You card design.  I stamped and embossed one of the wreaths in gold on cream card (can’t get enough of gold at the moment!) and then die cut it.  The little pine cones are stamped in Avery Elle Truffle pigment ink and then highlighted (which of course you can’t see in the photo) with little touches of gold Wink of Stella ink.  I scored a few lines on the top part of the cream card base and then splatted a few spots of Heidi Swapp gold colour shine on to it.  I made a little bow out of some DMC fine gold thread for the wreath and also wrapped some around the top of the card.  I cut the Thanks Card Die  from kraft cardstock and then assembled everything together.

Thanks

I hope you get a chance to play along with us this week – make sure you visit the rest of the design team for lots more gorgeous inspiration.

North Pole

Hello – I’m over on the Avery Elle blog today with a fun little card featuring the GORGEOUS festive stamp set – North Pole.  I LOVE the little penguins in this set – there’s some fabulous little images too.  I used the curved die from Custom Panels for the snow slope and the Falling Snow stencil from Simon Says Stamp again (my favourite stencil at the moment!)
