Smile!

As I was sitting at my craft desk I spotted a little die cut camera I had assembled some time ago using the MFT Cute Cameras 2 die-namics.  Remembering there was a fun challenge going on over at Moxie Fab World called Clicking Cameras I thought I’d put the wee guy to use and here’s what I came up with:

See that gorgeous patterned paper that looks like a bokeh effect (well, that’s what it reminds me of anyway) – keep a close eye over at Avery Elle over the next couple of weeks to see where it came from – can’t say any more right now other than “WOW” (shhhh)!

Thanks for dropping by x

Avery Elle – Surf’s Up.

Hello there!  Today I’m sharing a card using my favourite set from the Summer release from Avery Elle – Surf’s Up!  I have a passion for VW Campervans and vintage caravans – I love them!  I have WAY too many children to make owning one at all practical but I envisage me and hubby in our sunset years – pitching up on the beach in our aqua-coloured van watching the world go by!!  So here is my vision – on a card!!  I’m asleep on a sun-lounger just behind that sand dune, lol!!

Surf's Up 1

I used the Tim Holtz spritzer to create the sand effect and distress inks for the sky.  The palm tree was masked and stamped several times to create the background and then the campervan was coloured with Copics, cut out and popped on some foam adhesive.

Well thanks for dropping by – I really appreciate all your lovely comments so thanks for taking the time to visit.

Simon Says Stamp Wednesday Challenge : Emboss It!

wed-newchallenge-header

Hello!  It’s Wednesday which means a fab new challenge over at the Simon Says Wednesday Challenge blog.  The theme of this week’s challenge is EMBOSS IT!

Can’t wait to see all the different ways to use embossing – heating embossing powders, using pastes and texture mediums or good old fashioned dry embossing!

For my card this week I used both heat embossing (for the flower image) and embossing paste (on the chicken wire stencil).  I stamped the orchid from Clearly Besotted Stamps Thinking of You in Versamark then heat embossed in WOW! Bright White ep.  I coloured the image using distress ink pads as water colours.  The chicken wire effect was created using a The Crafters Workshop stencil and Dreamweaver embossing paste in white.

And as always, the AMAZINGLY generous peeps at Simon Says Stamp always love to reward your efforts with an awesome $50 gift voucher for one one lucky, randomly drawn participant!  Yay!!
