Avery Elle … Grateful

Hey there, here with a card I created using the gorgeous new Grateful stamp set and co-ordinating dies from Avery Elle.  This is only a small set (3×4 “) but it certainly packs a punch and you can create so may different looks.  I stamped the oak leaves a few times with Avery Elle Truffle dye ink so I could use some warm, fall colours from my Copics collection.  By using a brown ink rather than a black or grey, it helps to give an overall Autumnal tone to the colour scheme.

I stamped and die cut the little acorns and added some little dots of colour which adds a bit more texture than just colouring a solid blend.
For the card base I opted for a stone colour, again to bring in some warmth and then die cut a panel using my all time favourite Avery Elle background die, Horizontal Stripes Elle-ments from white card.  If you haven’t added this die to your collection yet then you must – it is SO useful.

To bring everything together I arranged the leaves into a kind of swag or wreath on the front of the panel and then stamped the “thankful” sentiment from the set (SO happy that this sentiment has a co-ordinating die) and die cut it and finished off with a small banner with the “for you” stamped on to it.

Avery Elle … Sending Peace

Hey there, here sharing a card using the gorgeous new holiday set from Avery Elle , Sending Peace.  I thought I’d go for non-traditional colours for this one and used some of my favourite Avery Elle Pigment Inks – Sugar Plum, Magenta and and Raspberry.  I blended the inks onto some white card (smooth Bristol card is good for this, the inks blend beautifully) and then used the new Three Stars Elle-ments to die cut the stars.

I used my MISTI to stamp the three sentiments stamps in a graduated colour from purple to pink to match in with the colour on the stars.  To finish I added a spritz of shimmer to the stars before adding them onto the card.

Get Cracking On Christmas (In July) Blog Hop

Hey there – you have no doubt hopped along here from the fabulous Libby Hickson’s blog but if you’re looking for the start of the hop jump over here to Jenn Shurkus’ blog.

If you’re wondering what this is about well it was an idea thought up by Jenn, Cahri and Cheiron way back at the end of last year.  They decided it would be fun to challenge themselves to create a holiday card every month so they would have a small batch ready before the usual last minute rush!  I thought this was an awesome idea so I have been playing along too!!

The idea of today’s hop is to encourage you to pull out some of those unloved supplies and create something for Christmas.  As the sun shines outside it’s actually quite comforting to think about those long, dark nights all snuggled up in front of the fire (my favourite time of the year 🙂 )

So onto today’s card …

I grabbed the Sunny Studios Merry Sentiments and Holiday Style stamps sets to create this festive little number!  I used Catherine Pooler Inks and my MISTI to make the fabulous two-tone lights and place my sentiment – where would we be without our MISTIS???  To finish off I covered each of the lights with Glossy Accents for a little extra something!!

If you get inspired to create a holiday card don’t forget to share it by leaving a link in the comments or tag us on Instagram using the #getcrackingonchristmas.

The next crafter on the list is Emily Midgett so off you pop and happy hopping!!!
