Inspired by Kate

I saw a gorgeous card on my friend Kate’s blog today and while I have found myself with a bonus hour or so to myself (unheard of on a Saturday afternoon) I thought I’d knock up a quick Valentine’s card for hubby.  The card is based on the current sketch over at CPS and I’ve used my current favourite papers from PTI along with their Pure Poppy card and ribbon.  The felt heart in the centre (sent to me by aforementioned friend!) is from a little pack of fab embellies by Martha Stewart (I ADORE her and her products).  I am entering this into the challenge at A Passion For Papertrey too which is Be My Valentine.

Right, off to make the most of my time with no kids or demanding husband.
Catchya later!

Mo’s Digital Challenge #18 – Use pink, red, white and a heart.

We have a LOVEly challenge over at Mos’ this week perfect for a Valentine theme.  I have used Shy Valentine Vanessa and some gorgeous paper from the Simple Valentine pad from PTI.  She is coloured with Promarkers.

Isn’t she sweet?
Right, this is a very quick one from me as I still have a mountain of stuff to catch up on and the kids get home in an hour!!

Have a great day.

ETA : just thought I’d enter this in the current challenge (Be My Valentine) over at A Passion For Papertrey as I just realised it will count seeing as I have used PTI papers and card – yay!

Papertrey Ink – DT colour challenge

Another day another AMAZING announcement over on Nichole Heady’s blog, Capture The Moment.  In the run up to the 15th (new release day) there have been some amazing celebrations and announcements going on and today is no exception.  The DT have each come up with a gorgeous colour combination they love to use and have challenged everyone to have a go creating something in those colours.  I was immediately drawn to Dawn McVeys (although I adore them ALL) :

  ..and here is my card…
I haven’t used any patterned paper on this card and have stamped onto the Summer Sunrise base layer with Dark Chocolate ink using one of the stamps from Polka Dots Basics.  The focal point is from Spring Tags (very kindly on loan to me from my pal Kate) which is stamped onto Kraft.  I have also used the Vintage Labels set (designed to go perfectly with the nesties) again stamped in Dark Chocolate.
Right,
Can’t sit here all day, have a million emails to follow up and another cup of coffee to drink!!  Need the energy!!
Hugs,
