Friends Always

Whilst hubby is out clubbing (yawn) I have spent a peaceful evening crafting away at my wee desk (grin).  Todays class over at Clean and Simple Cardmaking is entitled one stamp 3 ways.  The technique Julie Ebersole shared jumped out at me so I have used that as my inspiration (I do love her videos – she just sounds so happy all of the time!!).

{Friends Always}
Stamps:Delicate Blossoms (Hero Arts), Trendy Trees (WMS)
Card: Kraft (PTI)
Ink: Versamark
Tools: White filigree embossing powder (PTI), Classic tags (Memory Box)
I used the Delicate Blossoms stamp set again (this time with the larger stamp) and after embossing it in white, coloured it with Aqua ProMarkers directly onto the card (ie not as watercolours).  The sentiments are from WMS.  I LOVE this effect and think I’ll be using it again!
Thanks for stopping by.

Gradient Stamping – hmmmm

Hello again – here to share a card made using one of the techniques highlighted in the Day 3 class over at Clean and Simple Card Making 2.  This technique is about achieving a graduated or hombre look using just 3 inks.  I had a go with the inks I have and came to one conclusion – I need to go shopping!!! I am being totally drawn to the Hero Arts shadow inks but being “me” I can’t just have one or two – needless to say my cart over at Simon Says Stamp is currently making my eyes water!!  I also decided I needed one of those stamp press thingies – I don’t know how I haven’t discovered them before!!

Anyhoo, onto the card.  I used a FABULOUS background builder set (conveniently called Background Builder II)  and a sentiment from Once Upon A Time (both from Clearly Besotted stamps).  I stamped the background using Distress inks but I have to say I’m not pleased with how it turned out – I need more graduation – hence I need more inks!  My PTI inks didn’t work for me either – oh well!!  The little butterflies (die from Clearly Besotted also) were added (to cover a wee mark I made with my nail polish) to add a bit of interest and then glittered – because as the title of my blog may suggest – I LOVE GLITTER!

By the way, this is my second post today (get me!!).  Scroll down for my DAY 4 homework assignment!

Thanks for popping by.

Embracing the Space!

I am getting so much inspiration from the Clean and Simple Card making 2 classes.  We’re onto day 4 now and today is all about embracing the negative space on your cards.  Personally I am a big lover of lots of white space and a lot of my cards do tend to lean towards the “less is more” spectrum anyway – so this class was right up my alley!!  I think I have actually managed to combine Day 2 (one layer card) with Day 4 on this card so I’m feeling rather smug that I’ve managed to catch up!!

{Get Well Soon}
Stamps: Delicate Blossoms (Hero Arts), Thanks a Bunch (Clearly Besotted)
Ink: Brilliance (Twilight)
Card: Neenah Solar White
Other: Quickie glue pen and prisma glitter

I used an inkpad that literally hasn’t seen the light of day in about 3 years!  My Brilliance Twilight pad has been shoved in a drawer for so long but when I opened it today it was just as juicy as when I first used it!  I stamped the narrower of the two designs from Hero Arts Delicate Blossoms with a graduated effect and then used a water brush to water-colour using the same ink.  You can’t see it in the photo but the image is super shimmery!  The sentiment is from the Thanks a Bunch stamp set from Clearly Besotted.

Right – I’m off to tackle a technique from the Day 3 class – gradient stamping!  Back soon!
