Clearly Besotted teaser time!

Hey there – here with another card featuring some of the new products soon to be available at Clearly Besotted Stamps in the October release.  This is my second post today so scroll down for my earlier card.

Teaser Time

So today my card features the gorgeous new Set The Scene stamp set and co-ordinating die.  It allows you to create the cutest snow globes for Christmas but I also think it could be adapted for all year round use – little bunnies at Easter springs to mind (if you’ll pardon the pun, lol).

snow globe snowman

Look at that wee smile on that snowman – isn’t he gorgeous?!  Again, it’s difficult to see (as in the last card) but there is a layer of acetate behind the aperture giving the effect of the glass on the globe.  I think you could make some gorgeous shaker cards with this set – must give that a try!

Well thanks for dropping in again.  Pop back tomorrow for more Clearly Besotted Stamps sneaky peaks.

Happy Birthday Olivia!

Well today my little girl turns 13!  Wait, what???  That can’t be right surely??  Yes, it’s true – she’s turning into a beautiful young woman right before my eyes!  I am so proud (wipes little tear from corner of eye)!  One of her obsessions is flamingoes – she has them EVERYWHERE!  We even brought a plastic one all the way back from Florida last year!  As it happens Simon Says Stamp have just released a Kelly Purkey exclusive die that would be perfect to make a card for her. But “OH NO!!” – how would I ever get it shipped in time for her birthday?  Impossible 🙁  In comes the gorgeous Debby Hughes to my rescue – Debby being one of Simon’s designers had been sent the die already and so she cut me a flock of lovely pink flamingoes so I could make her the ideal birthday card!  So here it is…

IMG_1395I’ve been at it again with the embossing paste on a vine stencil I picked up at the craft show last weekend – jings that stuff  is addictive!!  You can’t see it in the photo but there is a layer of acetate behind the circle aperture so it has a bit of glazed appearance when it catches the light.  The colour behind is achieved by mixing Berry Sorbet and Sweet Blush inks and blending them onto the card with a blending tool.

Well that it for now, I’ll be back later with another card from the October release coming soon from Clearly Besotted – you’re going to love this month’s sets – I guarantee it!!

Cheerio!

10 minute Craft Dash #27 – and a little CBS sneak peak too!

Cd_27

Hello all – popping in to share my card for the latest 10 Minute Craft Dash Challenge.  We have a somewhat Halloweeny colour scheme going on this time but I’ve gone all Christmassey with it!

CD# 27There is a great prize on offer this time too – a $20 gift certificate from Avery Elle – yumm!

CD_27_prizeNow where is this cute little fella from I here you ask!  Well, he features in a new stamp set called Let It Snow from Clearly Besotted Stamps’ October release which will be available at midnight on 6th  – make sure you stay up, lol!!

I have been loving the latest resurgence of stencil paste that has been showing up all over blogland.  Debby (Lime Doodle) has made some gorgeous cards recently with lovely textured backgrounds.  Now I knew I had a few tubs of the stuff somewhere buried in my stash – I had a real obsession with it a few years ago.  To my delight I found it and it was as fresh as a daisy!  I picked up a few stencils at the craft fair on Saturday too so thought the polka dot one would make a perfect snowy background for this cute little penguin!  I think I’ll be making quite a few of my cards with him this year – he’s adorable!

Thanks for dropping in on me – I hope you you get a chance to play along with the challenge – it’ll be great to see you!

Hugs,

Caryn xxx
