Dreaming of a white Christmas.

This is my second post today – get me!!!  Scroll down for my other post (if you want to that is!!)

So last night I had a play with more October release goodies from Clearly Besotted.  This time with Pretty Poinsettias.  They’re stamped, embossed, die-cut and then stickled to within an inch of they’re life!!!  The background is created with a stencil and some translucent embossing paste so it has a lovely shine to it too. Too busy???

The “Less is More Challenge” is being sponsored by Clearly Besotted this week and the challenge is “White on White” so I thought I’d share this card with the girls over there (although if you’re reading this – please don’t include me in the prize draw – I have ALL the stamps and dies!!!).  I’ve only just discovered this challenge so will hopefully play along again in the future.

I’m also sharing it over at Simon says Stamp’s Wednesday Challenge which is to use stamps and ALSO happens to be showcasing Clearly Besotted!

Thanks for visiting,

Case-ing Elena!

Thought I’d have a go at playing along with this week’s Case Study Challenge – it’s been a while since I had the chance and as this month’s Muse is Elena (whom I adore!!) – I couldn’t not join in, could I?

case studyHere’s our inspiration this week:

CSC161_zps97dc38daI was drawn to a few things on Elena’s card – the red bow, the aqua and red colour scheme and the shape of the headscarf (??) – all very cute!

I’m also linking this to Simon Says Stamp Wednesday Challenge as I’ve used an SSS stamp set for the greeting!

Ok, better get the housework done I suppose – wish I could sit and craft all day!

Hugs,

Caryn

Clearly Besotted Challenge – Colour Inspiration

Challenge

Hi all, here with my DT card for this month’s Clearly Besotted Challenge.  I’m reverting back to the current season with this card – I feel like I’ve been in full Christmas mode these last few days! Steph has given us a colour scheme to take inspiration from but it doesn’t have to be an Autumn themed card – just take your cue from the colours.

PetalledPalette

embossed leafThe other day whilst I was digging about looking for my pots of embossing paste I knew I had buried somewhere, I also came across some tubs of UTEE (Ultra Thick Embossing Enamel) that had long since seen the light of day!  So, in the spirit of revisiting some old techniques I thought I’d have a go using the Autumn Flowers stamp set and dies.  I die cut the maple leaf from coaster board – it needs to be thicker than normal card for this.  Then after coating the die cut with a layer of Versamark I sprinkled on some gold and some copper UTEE and heated it.  Whilst it was still “molten” I stamped the co-ordinating leaf stamp into it.  I had forgotten how much fun this is!!

I’m sharing this over at Simon Says Stamp’s Wednesday Challenge which is to use stamps.

Please make sure you pop on over to Steph’s blog, Stamping and Sharing for all the challenge deets and check out the rest of the DT’s cards whilst you’re there – stunning inspiration as always.

Thanks for visiting.
