Everything Changes: Clearly Besotted May release

Clearly Besotted are well known for lots of things – their unrivalled customer service, high quality products and trendy, unique designs.  Two things they do really, really well are flowers (check out all the floral sets here) and butterflies.  You’ve already had a glimpse at the new floral sets being released this month and today I’m featuring a brand new butterfly set.  These are a little different in that they’re a side view rather than front view – if that makes sense?!  There are both solid and outline images too so something for everyone!  I coloured the butterflies in Copics and added some coordinating sequins from a mis by Lucy’s Cards.

My Hero – Clearly Besotted

Hello – back for day 2 of the Clearly Besotted May release previews and today I’m focussing on a sentiment set for all the men in your life called My Hero.  Steph released a girly version of this last month called Sugar and Spice so it’s nice to have one for the boys!!  I’ve made a couple of cards for my two most important men – my husband and my son.  As you can see I have really gone to town with the stripes this month!  Once I started stamping them I couldn’t stop.  My first card is for my hubs.  I probably don’t tell him as much as I should but I kinda like him!  We’re celebrating our 20th wedding anniversary in July so I guess we must be doing something right!!

My second card is for my AWESOME boy, Daniel.  He makes me so proud and I could not wish for a better son!  He’s clever, creative, handsome, caring, and just a bit cheeky!  He makes a good cup of tea too.  For the background I used the “Laura Bassen smooshing technique” with Spectrum Noir aqua markers.  I took a large acrylic block and a rainbow of aqua markers, scribbled my colours onto the block and then gave it a jolly good spritzing of water.  Then I laid my water-colour cardstock down onto the block and pressed it down well.  When you (carefully) lift the paper up you will hopefully have a nice “smooshed” rainbow pattern like this.  I used a Simon Says Stamp stitched rectangle die to cut my panel (once I’d let it dry obviously) and then stamped the “Son” three times with the various sentiments in between.  I used my MISTI again to get everything perfectly lined up.  I finished off with a few stamped stars from the Blast Off II set.

Be sure to pop back again tomorrow for more teasers and check out the rest of the team – they’re ON FIRE again this month!

Delightful Day – Clearly Besotted May Sneak Peeks!

Teaser Time

Helloooooo!  It’s an exciting day today because the 2nd always means one thing – the start of the new Clearly Besotted release sneak peeks!  This month we have some FANTASTIC new products and I can’t wait to share what I’ve been doing with them.  Stephanie has also teamed up with the fabulous Lucy Abrahms and together they have developed a new line of dies which are like nothing else I’ve seen around – can’t wait to show you them!  And in case you hadn’t noticed Stephanie has expanded her line of products at the shop with ALL KINDS of great goodies.  Make sure you check out all the new stuff she has available!

For today though I’ve been playing with a gorgeous new floral set called Delightful Day.  I created a panel using the solid stripe stamp from Basic Stripes and stamped it in Fog pigment ink.  I used the MISTI so was able to get a good solid image by overstamping several times to eliminate any uneven patches.  I stamped the jar and roses in Tuxedo black ink and coloured them with Copics.  After fussy cutting them out I popped them up on some foam adhesive and finished with some Doodlebug Sprinkles and a coat of Wink of Stella – which doesn’t really show in the photo 🙁

delightful day 1

For my second card I couldn’t help going for more stripes!  This time I went for a bold black striped background (so easy using the MISTI) and mounted my coloured roses onto a die cut circle cut from gold Bazzill cardstock.  A few little sequins (from a mix from Lucy’s Cards – also available from Clearly Besotted).  I stamped the sentiment in Versamark and embossed it in gold to finish.

Please make sure you pop along to the rest of the DT blogs for more amazing ideas and also from the fabulous Stephanie herself.  Prepare to guard your wallet – it’s definitely in danger this month 😉
