Clearly Besotted Challenge – Colour Inspiration

Challenge

Hi all, here with my DT card for this month’s Clearly Besotted Challenge.  I’m reverting back to the current season with this card – I feel like I’ve been in full Christmas mode these last few days! Steph has given us a colour scheme to take inspiration from but it doesn’t have to be an Autumn themed card – just take your cue from the colours.

PetalledPalette

embossed leafThe other day whilst I was digging about looking for my pots of embossing paste I knew I had buried somewhere, I also came across some tubs of UTEE (Ultra Thick Embossing Enamel) that had long since seen the light of day!  So, in the spirit of revisiting some old techniques I thought I’d have a go using the Autumn Flowers stamp set and dies.  I die cut the maple leaf from coaster board – it needs to be thicker than normal card for this.  Then after coating the die cut with a layer of Versamark I sprinkled on some gold and some copper UTEE and heated it.  Whilst it was still “molten” I stamped the co-ordinating leaf stamp into it.  I had forgotten how much fun this is!!

I’m sharing this over at Simon Says Stamp’s Wednesday Challenge which is to use stamps.

Please make sure you pop on over to Steph’s blog, Stamping and Sharing for all the challenge deets and check out the rest of the DT’s cards whilst you’re there – stunning inspiration as always.

Thanks for visiting.

Sneaky Peak time at Clearly Besotted!

What a weekend I’ve just had!!  I travelled down to Essex to meet up with some of my fellow Clearly Besotted girls Aimes Wanford, Debby Hughes and the gov’ner herself, Stephanie Wincott!  Steph is about as generous as you can get with her hospitality although I have come back feeling rather ashamed of my clutter – that girl has MINIMAL taste!!  I don’t think we stopped talking for more than 5 minutes!  Thanks for your company girls – it was the best weekend ever!  I’ve added a few little pics below but we were chatting so much we didn’t even stop to actually take very many!

We filmed a couple of 10 Minutes Craft Dashes too so stay tuned for that – what a laugh we had!

As it happens it was a very timely gathering too as we are the beginning of September which means ……… NEW RELEASE TIME !!! I am always excited when September comes around – for me its the start of the countdown to Halloween and of course Christmas!  Steph has some amazing sets coming out this month too and I can’t wait for you to see what’s in store.

Teaser Time

Today I am sharing a card made with a gorgeous Halloween set called Boo To You! featuring some cute pumpkins and spooky sentiments. My card is more Autumnal than Halloween though!  The sentimant is from another new set, Autumn Flowers.
