Hello there and Happy Monday. I’m popping in today with more goodness from Avery Elle and this time I’m featuring a cute little stamp set called Easter Blessings. Spring is definitely in the air and signs are appearing everywhere I look – daffs, lambs…rain!
I wanted some nice, soft pastel colours to reflect the new season so embossed the image in white and then used my watercolours to give that lovely soft feel. For fun I gave the bunnies some cottontails using a REALLY old product from eons ago – white liquid applique. I forgot how cool this stuff is! If you haven’t tried it – you apply the liquid to the area and then carefully (it can burn) heat it and it puffs up like fluff! Great for snow and bunny’s tails!
Hope you have a wonderful week.
Hello and HAPPY MONDAY! It’s Avery Elle day every Monday on my blog and today I’m sharing a cute little project I made over the weekend. My 4 girls are always reading AND they are all big animal lovers (if I had a penny for every time I’d heard “can we get a dog?” I’d be living it up in the Caribbean right now!!). We are definitely a cat family though so I thought I’d combine some amazing new Avery Elle products and create a little bookmark for each of them. (I didn’t make one for my 15 year old son – he’s far too cool for that)! I definitely need more practice colouring animals – please don’t look too closely, lol! Aren’t they adorable stamps though – the critters from Furry Friends sit perfectly on top of the books from the This Book stamp set – my personal favourite is the ginger one curled up asleep on top of the books – that’s so what a cat would do!
I stamped each of the animals onto masking paper and cut them out (only the bottom half needs to be cut if you’re in a hurry) and then I stamped each one on to a bookmark die cut from white card stock. I then placed the mask over the animals and stamped the pile of books below them so each one looks perfectly perched on top of the stack of books! I just coloured them in with Copic markers (not brilliantly though, I need to go back and revisit the Copic colouring class from Online Card Classes I think – where is Kathy Racoosin when I need her, lol??)
Thanks for stopping by today – happy crafting xxx
