Avery Elle … Take A Peek

Hi  here today with a card and short video showing how I used the Take A Peek stamp set and Elle-ments.  I went for a “coffee and cream” colour palette as inside my little envelope on the card I’ve hidden a Starbucks card.

Here’s a wee video showing how it all came together.

Sharktastic 10th Birthday

It was my nephew’s birthday recently and he went into double figures – yay!  We bought him a shark nanobot thingy as a gift so I thought it would be cool to create a card to compliment the present – and what better set to reach for than one I designed myself for Avery Elle, Hello Chum.  I know I’m totally biased but I STILL love this set.  I love sharks so this will always be close to my heart.

I created the background panel using alcohol inks on Yupo paper.  A very addictive pass time that is – alcohol marker play.  I used the Horizontal Stripes dies and number balloon dies along with the sentiment from the Birthday Bus set all from Avery Elle.

Supplies used:

Hello Chum Clear Stamp Set

Hello Chum Elle-ments

Horizontal Stripes Elle-ments

Number Balloons Elle-ments

Birthday Bus Clear stamps

Aquamarine Twine

Ellen Hutson Pinsights Challenge – Pantone Attitude Colour Palette

I recently made my first purchase from Ellen Hutson.com and boy are their products amazing!  I picked up a few sets and most of the Catherine Pooler Inks – can’t wait to get stuck into them!  I got to playing and noticed the current Pinsights Challenge – how could you not be inspired by that colour palette?

Anyhoo, here’s what I made.  The first card was created by blending Distress Oxide Inks on Tim Holtz watercolour paper then spritzing with water and some Heidi Swapp Gold Lame colour shine.  I then overlaid the panel with the MFT Sun Ray stencil and applied white gesso over it.  While that was drying I stamped the image from Mermaid Tail in vermark onto vellum and heat embossed it with Gold Tinsel embossing powder from Ranger.  I chose the sentiment from Avery Elle’s Mermaid stamp set anf heat embossed it in gold Avery Elle embossing powder.  I assembled everything onto the card adding some gold thread and a few rainbow sequins here and there.  Sweet huh?

Supplies:

Sun Ray Stencil – MFT

Gesso

Distress Oxide Inks

Gold Tinsel Embossing Powder – Ranger

Gold Lame Colour Shine Spray – Heidi Swapp

My second card uses the stunning Mondo Peony stamp set from the Essentials By Ellen line.  I stamped the large image in gold embossing powder the used Zig Clean Colour Brush Markers to add loose areas of colour randomly across the image.  I then sprayed it quite heavily waith water and blended it until I was happy.  It did go in the bin at one point because it looked a hot mess!  I grabbed it out again though and played with it some more and actually was quite happy in the end!!  I added a good spray of shimmer mist to it before fussy cutting it out and putting it on a 4 bar sized card. To finish I added a strip of gold and die cut the happy from Avery Elle’s Sentimental Too dies and the birthday from the co-ordinating stamp set.
