Avery Elle … With Sympathy

Hey there!  It’s a Bank Holiday here in the UK and if all has gone to plan I’m sitting by the pool sipping something chilled in Centerparcs!!  I’m sharing a card using some of the amazing new products from the brand new Summer release from Avery Elle.  I’m using the fantastic With Sympathy die and have paired it with one of my own designs, The Reef and Coral Reef dies.  I used a blending tool to add colour to the die cuts as I didn’t want a solid appearance, I wanted it to look more textured.  I added a splatter to the background using Heidi Swapp Sea Foam spray and added everything to a panel cut with my most used craft item, Wonky Stitches!!!

Avery Elle Summer 2016 Release Blog Hop

Hooray!  It’s time for the brand new Summer 2016 release from Avery Elle!  You should have arrived here from my fun-lovin’ and fabulous friend, Karolyn Loncon‘ s blog.  If not go back to the Avery Elle Blog and start from there!

There are so many amazing new products being released today – I know you’re going to LOVE the hop and seeing the design team’s gorgeous creations.  The product I’m featuring today is one of three new stamp sets I’ve designed for this release along with a fun die set that compliments the theme perfectly.  This is a die collection I’ve been NEEDING in my collection for a long time and I’m so happy to finally have it.  I love all things ocean-related and as you may or may not know have a particular passion for sharks!  Well I have my sharks (Hello Chum) and now I have The Reef.  I was inspired by my love of The Great Barrier reef where I learned to dive and wanted to be able to create some pretty, underwater themed cards for my fellow sea-loving friends.   The dies came from my desire to have a coral/sea-weedy backdrop and these Coral Reef dies give me the ability to layer to my heart’s content!!

Hi there, today’s card was made for my friend who recently celebrated a BIG birthday!  The “fabulous” sentiment just about sums her up so I went all out glitzy for her card!  I put the Minc Mini through it’s paces and created a panel using some Heidi Swapp polka dot paper foiled in red.  I made a couple of tassels using the MFT Fringe die and added a red foiled fringe to the bottom of the card too.  I embossed the Fabulous in Gold Tinsel embossing powder from Ranger and then fussy cut it out.
