Avery Elle … Aw, Nuts! and Jingle

Hey there!   I‘m over on the Avery Elle Blog today sharing a couple of cards featuring some gorgeous new products (and a couple of my favourite oldies too!).

For my first card I paired (again) the Aw, Nuts! set from the brand new release with the Fall Foliage set from last year.  I shared a card last week HERE showing how beautifully this year’s Fall sets co-ordinate with stamps you probably already have in your collection.

On this card I stamped the images onto white card using Truffle Pigment Ink which works great for watercolouring.  I pulled out my Zig Clean Colour Markers and water brush and coloured my images in rich, Autumn colours – I can’t get enough of these colours right now!

I used a kraft A2 card base and using an oval stencil and a blending brush I created a focal point on the centre of the card and then used the Avery Elle White Spray to add a subtle speckling of white before adding my coloured images using foam adhesive.

I am also sharing a card using the great new sentiment set, Jingle.  I love big sentiments like these, they make it so easy to rustle up cards and tags in no time!

I started by cutting a panel from white card slightly smaller than my A2 kraft card base.  I then took different stamps from the Nordic Patterns set and stamped a design in red and green inks.  In the middle of the pattern I stamped the Jingle and All The Way sentiments then continued to build up the pattern.
Once I was happy with that I used the star cookie die from Christmas Cookies and cut an aperture on the panel and then used that to place the co ordinating stamp onto the kraft card underneath.

I stamped the star cookie image through in Versamark and heat embossed it in white.I then adhered the the panel using foam tape and finished off with a couple of enamel dots.

Avery Elle … Boo To You

Hey there Avery Elle fans, I’m here today kicking off the week with a look at the stunning Boo To You stamp set.  I absolutely love this set – I love Autumn and Halloween, and this time of year is so magical to me.

When I started creating this card I was thrilled to discover how perfectly our previously released Fall Foliage stamp set paired with this new set.  I love the way the pumpkin nestles in the cluster of leaves.

I started by stamping the pumpkin and leaves elements for my card onto some kraft cardstock using Truffle dye ink.  I then coloured everything with Prismacolor pencils – haven’t used them in ages so it was fun to pull them out again!
I stamped the cat and cauldron onto white card and coloured them then added a light brushing of Kraft pigment ink around the edges of each die cut to remove the stark white  and make it blend more with the muted colours of the rest of the card.

I used the negative space from die cutting the pumpkin to help me blend some orange ink onto my white card base and then used foam tape to build my little pumpkin diorama!

For a few tiny details I used a white gel pen to add little dots to the background and toadstools.

Avery Elle Fall Release 2020

Well after a few delays we’re finally here with the much-anticipated Avery Elle Fall 2020 release. You are sure to find something you LOVE amongst all the gorgeous new products (if not EVERYTHING) and with so much inspiration along the hop you’re gonna have a hard time choosing!! Also, I have two sets that I’ve designed for this release – Nordic Patterns and Christmas Cookies – and I can’t wait to share what I’ve made with them!

My first card features both the Nordic Patterns and Christmas Cookies stamp sets. By the way, they don’t have to be cookies, lol!! I thought the primitive heart shape would blend perfectly with the folky feel of the pattern builder set and I love how they work together.

To get the two-colour design I used a MISTI stamping tool but these stamps are really easy to line up with regular acrylic blocks too. Notice how the row of hearts sits neatly in between the deers?

My next card shows how you can use the same stamps, rearranged to give a totally different pattern and look – using white heat embossing. Again, I took two of the “cookies” from the Christmas Cookies set and stamped and die cut them (theres a cute cuff die for both the mitten and the stocking too). If you have a MISTI, then you can create multiple backgrounds both embossed or stamped in a rainbow of colours in a very short time! After heat embossing with Avery Elle Fine Detail white embossing powder I blended purple and mint green inks over the top and finished but die cutting the panel using the Wonky Rectangles die. I made my sandwich a bit thick so my paper crumpled slightly (grr) – noted for next time!!

To complete the card I added some glitter Nuvo drops to the centres of the snowflakes and the cuff of the mitten and stamped the sentiment onto a hand cut banner.

I was really happy with this colour combo so whilst I still had the inks out I thought I’d whip up another card! This time I simply used the row of 3 larger snowflakes and added a large sentiment using the new Happy Holidays word die. I blended the two colours onto a piece of white card and then die cut the sentiment ( I LOVE THIS DIE)!!

I added a few dots of sparkle again to the centre of the snowflakes and I was done!

How about one for the road? I wanted to create a card showing how this stamp set can be used to create backgrounds of unlimited size. Each stamp will line up end to end so that you can keep on stamping for as far as the eye can see! Great for decorating wrapping paper or for making those larger cards. I made a card base measuring 3.5″ x 8.5″ and cut a panel slightly smaller. I stamped the trio of snowflakes along the panel in blue then below in grey and used the smaller snowflake stamp to fill in the areas where they create a space. This same principle can be used with any of the stamps so the possibilities are truly endless!
