Thank you cards – I’ve started (finally)!

Chip thank you card

Well, I got my mojo on and sat down to some serious crafting last night! While Chris was out playing bridge I had an undisturbed few hours and started on a batch of thank you cards for all the lovely generous gifts we all received this year. I wanted to get more use out of my Disney cricut cartridge and I absolutley love Chip n Dale. My favourite cartoon with them ever was on the tv the other day – you know the one where Mickey chops down a christmas tree and Chip n Dale are still in it and Pluto goes mad trying to get them!! Hee, hee – I love it. Anyhoo, that inspired me to use the chip cut on the Mickey and Friends cartridge.

Well, for anyone who may have tried this cut or is thinking about it – be warned – the hands are a nightmare. They just kept getting chewed up! Hence the addition of the heart to cover up the mess!! I have made 8 of these cards now so will move on to another character I think! Pluto looks quite simple!

With this card, Chip is cut on 4.5 inches and the leaf border is on 1.5 inches. I have chalked here and there to make him less, erm, flat! I cut the circle with my lovely new Nesties and embossed it with the Thank you embossing folder. I went over the thank you on the embossing with a Quickie glue pen and then added some gold glamour dust – just to highlight this area. I have also added touches of gold with an ink pad and also a gold leaf pen. I have also managed to use my new Martha Stewart punch on this card! Enjoyed making it a lot – will try to use my Disney carts more often I think.

Another christmas layout.

Seeing as how I will be forced to take down my treasured christmas decorations later, I thought I’d share a LO of my little girl, Olivia from christmas day 06. I am trying desperatley to feel one last twinge of the festive spirit but it has all gone! Why can’t christmas last just a bit longer??

First christmas cards of 09!!

Ok, I know, I’m a bit early but I was only having a play!!

The writing is done with a stamp set I got a few years back – Holiday Circles by The Art Wharehouse, I think. The papers are from different stacks I have in my stash. The little embellies are cheating really – got them in Asda ages ago – handy when you want to run up a card quickly!! (That’s my excuse anyway).
