25 Days of Christmas Tags … Day 18 … Avery Elle

I am delighted to once again be participating a fun, annual Christmas event hosted by Tracey McNeely over on her amazing blog In My Creative Opinion.  This year I thought it would be fun to create a wine bottle tag as what better gift to receive than the gift of booze!!!  Of course you can substitute the wine for any other bottled gift but for me, wine will do it every time!!!

Avery Elle Winter Release 2017 Blog Hop

It’s release day over at Avery Elle so that means a designer blog hop (starting at the Avery Elle Blog) to showcase all the fabulous new products available right now over in the Avery Elle store!

This release is full of fun stamps and awesome die collections so there’s sure to be something for everyone!  Today I’m, featuring a sweet little set I designed called Windmill.  I had so much fun coming up with this set and I hope you like it as much as I do!!!

I decided a long time ago that this would be a perfect set to use with a paper-piecing technique.  I used my favourite paper pad of all time, the Everyday Collection and created a kind of patchwork effect using all the little scraps I’ve been holding onto forever!!  I stamped out the images I wanted to include onto different patterns and then die cut them using the co-ordinating dies.  A GREAT die collection that partners with this stamp set perfectly is the Picket Fence die set.  I used the grassy border, picket fence and cloud dies to create my little countryside scene.  The path is from the Cityscape collection from the last release.

The sails of the windmill actually turn thanks to a wee brad (crikey – haven’t used one of those in a while!!).

Avery Elle … Flamingo Bells

Hi there.  This week on the Avery Elle Blog we’re featuring a cute holiday set that’s a bit out of the norm!  It’s Christmas but with a tropical twist.  I decided to create a little tag using the Shaker Tags Elle-ments (please ignore the fact I took the photo before I added the ribbon to the top of the tag – doh!).

I blended Distress Oxide inks (Picked Raspberry, Spiced Marmalade and Peacock Feathers) to create a sunset backdrop and then die cut the large tag shape from it and stamped the palm tree scene stamp.

After adding some shimmer using Spica Pens I die cut the frame from white using both the tag dies.  I layered this using foam tape over the base tag and finished by adding the sentiment and a festive little flamingo!
